I didnt quite know what to expect and went with a view to simply providing my daughter with company for the evening.
I was quite blown away and am now a fan!
The Earth needs people like this chap. The evening was a great joy and both my daughter and I look forward to his next visit to somewhere we can get to.
Great gig. Be aware that the show times are as described at the NCH. Doors open at 7pm. Pallbearer started at 1915. I turned up at 20:20 and missed them!
Absolutely loved seeing Taylor Acorn. Incredible live and recorded. She was kind to her fans at the meet and greet and put on such a good show!
Better than what I was expecting!! Great little night with two of me good pals from school, major throwback hearing FIFA 14 live in the flesh lol
What a brilliant musician and group. Mixed a selection of blues, rock and soul to provide a heady mix from his growing collection. Hard to believe he played such a small venue.
I thoroughly enjoyed the gig, pleased he played a wide selection of tunes and even threw in a rendition of Definitely Maybe, as a nod to the city!
7th(?) Mudhoney gig over the years and possibly the worst. This could well be a me problem - maybe I’ve just grown apart musically.
They played plenty of the classics - but changed - so “ Touch Me, I’m Sick” was at nearly double speed and “In n Out Of Grace” had developed the first drum solo seen in the wild since 1977…
For some reason, the red lights between sets made the wife nauseous - which didn’t help ☹️
Still enjoyed it, but not as much as previous occasions.
This gig was amazing!! Although I do think the queues weren’t the best handled, water was very accessible which is something very much needed which is lacking at a lot of gigs. I also loved the venue and the staff were very friendly. One of my favourite bands too!!
Best night ever! Everyone was super nice and helpful, the show was epic, great sound setup, soundcheck was good and the people standing around me were awesome too!
I didn't know much about this artist before the gig but I took a hunch after going off some good recommendations from friends and she didn't disappoint.
Although the music style was a little bit safe and middle of the road for my personal taste it was a really lovely set by a very good set of musicians.
The show was fantastic with a good mix of new and old tracks getting the crowd going!!
The light and graphics show was amazing and sound too!
Really like the venue and love that water was free and given out at the end of the gig, really good idea!
What a gig, it was like we were back in the early 2000s. Absolute fantastic stage presence, the gig was everything I was hoping it would be and more!
The Cinematic Orchestra were brilliant and the live video accompanying the performance was superb but the venue, the New Century Hall, was problematic because it wasn’t clear it was not seated and we had two quite disabled friends with us. The seating we eventually got for them, which was the same for a substantial number of others who required seating, meant they couldn’t see the stage at all! This should all have been made clear before the tickets were booked and we could perhaps have chosen a more suitable venue.
Great venue, not been there before. Good selection of craft ales. Great acoustics. Spiritualized were fantastic. 17 songs from 7 albums played in just over 2 hours. Very loud.
Awesome gig. DJ set was sick, venue was ace, and for a manchester gig the crowd was great! glad to see a pretty mixed setlist, such a fun night. The sound was perfect too. anyone who hasn’t seen these guys yet (and anyone who has), i’d deffo recommend!
The guys are just amazing. Their music is so funky and fun, and they make it sound even better when live. It's the second time I've seen them and they just keep getting better 🤘🏻
Crazy good, loved the opening band! Loved these guys too. I'm sure the volume could go even higher, but looking at the crowd they kept it low, lol. Sound could be more crisper.
i thought they were excellent, but the sound was a bit Meh…the band sounded good but the vocals were mostly drowned out. Alex has an awesome voice but most of the textures and dynamics were lost. I reckon if the sound has been on point it would have been a 9/10 gig…but as it was i’d go 6.5/10. Nice looking venue otherwise tho
Incredible live band as always, so much energy and always a good crowd.
Venue was great, acoustics were great and wasn't too bad getting in and out, very busy though with it being sold out and they had two smaller bars selling lager at the sides to ease some queues for the main bar.
Cloakroom was handy and it's central location was excellent to get too and from.
Shikari are amazing, my third time seeing them and the light, sound, fun and thrill of their shows is amazing.
Definitely 5/5 and I'll see them again soon.
Graham, as well as being a guitar icon (at least to our generation) is such an interesting and funny fellow. He’s had such a troubled life, but it seems like he’s happy now, I do hope he’s alright. I’d already read the book but he added more colour to it last night, plus stuff that’s not in the book. Matt Everitt, as always, was the perfect host, he kept the evening flowing and asked some interesting questions without ever getting in the way. Should have taken some photos.
