Venue was great. The show was amazing. I took my 16 yo son who is a fan and this was his first concert. Stryper did not disappoint. I was fully impressed. It's like they haven't aged. I am so grateful they continue to bless their fans with new music and opportunities to see them live. Looking forward to the next chance to see them.
40 years ago, I was at Stryper's very first show in Wichita, KS at The Cotillion Ballroom on the Soldiers Under Command tour. Michael Sweet and Co. and their big teased hair and tight yellow & black spandex came out, launched into Makes Me Want To Sing, and I was hooked. Up until that point, "Christian Music" hadn't seen anything this big, this professional, with this level of musicianship.
Fast forward to this past Friday night. After seeing Stryper 7x over the past 40 years since that first night, how surreal and glorious it was to see fellow 60-something men still playing and singing at the highest level! For crying out loud, Oz Fox just recently had his 2nd brain tumor surgery, lost his hair, and his fingers still ripped the fretboard up on his guitar like he was 22 again. Michael, who has questioned over the past 10 years whether he should stop singing lead vocals and let someone else handle the high notes, was singing notes that no 61 yr old should be able to belt out for a 3 hr show.
I loved the format for this 40th Anniversary Tour, with the band playing a couple of songs from almost every album, in a chronological history of hits. The first half of the show was dedicated to the early classic songs that many of us know by heart, followed by a break, and a second half filled with songs from the 2nd half of their career starting in 2005. "Soldiers Under Command" has always been Stryper's magnum opus, but it feels like the newer epic metal worship tour de force "Yahweh" has taken its place. They ended the night with the classic Sing Along Song . . sweaty, exhausted, and grateful for a packed house full of love and appreciation for 4 decades of incredible music from our beloved yellow and black attack. Michael finished by thanking everyone and saying "As long as you guys keep supporting us we'll keep playing." There's nothing better that any of us could have heard this magic night.
They blew the roof off the joint..no kidding. Great showmanship and great musicianship. Vocals were unique and very cool. Great harmony’s. They connected with the crowd immediately and had them throughout. Strong, driving southern rock with that SoCal flavor. They talked to fans after the show. You gotta see ‘em if you get a chance.
Brutal as expected! Havok sounded good in that venue; Sharp as always.
In one of many parts of this venue,, Havok played in the lower level, and The first impression I had in that part of the Temple. It was a really good show. Really, a very large spectacular basement show; and you should have been there.
Everything I expected! ...and so much more! Wow!
Mick & Boys are legendary for a reason...and the rest of us are just not worthy!
Saxon?!?!? ...at a lost for words. Holy
Mackerel! ...do these gentlemen rule!
What an incredible tour, bravo Boys! ...BRAVO
Aside from not being able to buy the merch from Lacuna Coils table as nobody was there until it was suddenly gone, the concert was great! Seeing the artists support each other and have fun performing made it even better.
Oh my God it was so amazing that New Year’s Day did so great!! I would love to see her come back to Wichita, including Lacuna coil did so awesome I would love to see them again
LOVED this show and LOVE this venue! P.O.D. has been my favorite band from "Snuff the Punk" to "Veritas". Have seen them several times, but this was my first meet and greet with them. They were great guys. Humble, genuine, showed they were truly grateful for their fans. And Temple Live is my new favorite venue in Wichita. Only my second show there, but such a cool, historic vibe building. Event staff was very hospitable and very friendly! Had a nephew come, who has spina bifida and in a wheelchair, and they were awesome helping him get access up to the floor. Keep it up Temple Live.
The show was fantastic, the seating could've been better. The show was well worth it. I love Zach, the he thinks and his huge heart for our military, country, God and the kids. I would definitely love to do it again
Lorna Shore will never disappoint. The talent in this band is unmatched.
The venue having resident bats made the experience very metal. They should probably have the bats relocated though, I imagine it wasn't a very good experience for them.
All three bands blew me away. You thoroughly enjoy when the bands you go see live are so good that it feels like you are hearing the audio recording. 10/10 would see Lorna Shore, I Am, and The Acacia Strain again.
Great show, Kinda loud and vocals were off a bit. Overall real good show.
Ticketmaster and Venue got to me for $28.08 for VIP Parking. No Lot was Marked for VIP Parking and Free Parking across the street from Venue... Also,$ 10.00 parking right next to building. Rip Off on that parking
Opening act Eric Johansen was excellent. Samantha fish did not disappoint. I’m offered a variety of music including acoustic numbers but the highlights as always are the hard driving blues based tunes with flaming guitar solos. She is a great performer and works with the crowd to make an event. Good job
This was a great show! Parthian was a great opener, Greylotus was awesome, and First Fragment absolutely killed it! Only complaint was the lack of air conditioning at the venue.
I also got to meet the legendary Forest Lapointe afterwards and he was very friendly, even though we all rushed him as he was getting offstage.
Wheeler put on an amazing show! So many times an artist isn't anywhere near as good in person as on a record. I have to say Wheeler was better in person! Can't wait for him to come back to Wichita!!
Thanks so much for an amazing show especially the encore. Back when you originally released Coulda Been Me in 2013, the moment I first heard it come out on the radio convince me to finally leave the dead in job I had been stuck in and hated and go back instead to school so that I could have a career that I actually liked. 9 years later, I still know it was the right choice so you and your music will always to have a special place in my life and heart for how you helped me become what I needed to turn my world around.
Drove 700 miles from Indianapolis to Wichita to see The Struts for my 4th time. Incredible show as always and a beautiful venue and old town area (Temple Live). The Struts are an amazing band. Can’t wait to see them again.
Fantastic show, for sure in my personal top-3, and I've been going to concerts since 1985 and seen a lot of the greats. I feel fortunate to be able to see this band in such an intimate venue because it won't be this way for them for long. High energy, the musicianship is top notch, Luke Spiller's command/attention of the audience is, well, the Freddie Mercury/Mick Jagger comparisons are out there for a reason. You must see for yourself, this is what a rock and roll show is all about.
Wheeler put on an amazing show! So many times an artist isn't anywhere near as good in person as on a record. I have to say Wheeler was better in person! Can't wait for him to come back to Wichita!!
Incredible performance. All the energy demonstrated at a small venue in Wichita, KS you’d expect at the grandest of events! Tickets were pricey, but I feel I definitely got more than what I paid for. Great choice having Teddy and the Rough Riders open the evening!
