The Glasgow Royal Concert Hall

They are always amazing ! I was rear row of upper balcony but the view was good and we could stand and dance without annoying anyone ! Was a great set which they seem to be changing around venue to venue . Wish I could see them again tonight !

Royal Concert Hall, Leo Sayer Myself and my 3 sisters and our Terry family friend, had a brilliant time watching leo as always, never lets us down and the band that hes got are superb....Leo you still have it lol...hopefully we all get to see you in 2025..keep rocking :) x

A fabulous show, made all the better with the inclusion of Amanda Lehmann on vocals and guitar. Her vocals on 'Shadow of the Heirophant was magnificent. Had Sylvan on the main vocals was brilliant as always. Crystal clear sound and an imaginative light show added to the evening's enjoyment. After the now customary solo Hackett material (new and old) in part one, the 2nd half kicked off with NINE tracks from the complex (and still controversial to some) 'The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway' album. What is also great about seeing a Steve Hackett gig is that he loves to make sure that all of the band take the spotlight and there is no doubt that they all love working together. He doesn't seem to show any signs of slowing down and hopefully there will be another UK Tour in 2025.

Good concert, nice venue, enjoyed the songs. If I'm being picky the sound wasn't ultra fantastic and a bIt distracting with musicians coming on and off the stage which gives the feeling of a tribute band who are just hired guns. Great to hear some of the tracks from the Lamb Lies Down on Broadway though I got the impression that he really wanted to play his favourites from Selling England. No problem with that and he chose well. Woodwind was a bit intrusive in parts and unnecessary in some cases and the least said about the drum solo ........but overall a worthwhile night.

Forced to listen to them since early childhood (thanks dad!), fell in love with them later in life and this is where I saw them for the first time! Just fantastic show, the venue was great, sound too, loved how it was divided in two separate for acoustic and electric! I might have shed a tear during July Morning

The band was just fantastic, that is really what I think, oh, by the way, which one's pink? ( half star only because sometimes the sound was a bit unfair to their performance !!

Can't tell you how many times I've seen this band since 1996 and as ever they didn't disappoint. They were magnificent. They put their heart and souls into every performance. There are no words to stress how brilliant they are. Met them afterwards and given how massive they are, what a genuine gracious group of lovely people they are. Can't wait for them to come back!!!! Lots of love and prayers to Paul Deakin on his recovery from his massive surgery.

Standout concert, album was made for this event. Orchestra were not only brilliant, also added to the overall experience. Stalls standing would have added to the atmosphere, wouldn’t miss this again if & when it comes round again. Only negative for me was backing singer being positioned so far back, when her contribution is key.

My sister and I spent two brilliant nights at The Hug & Pint, with Nick, through Celtic Connections. We delighted in the fact that we had two nights, instead of the one we expected. Nick was his usual funny, laid back, but simultaneously vibrant self. As always he excelled in his storytelling and his phenomenal guitar playing. He always amazes us and NEVER disappoints! If you have not seen Nick, please put it on your to do list, the man is very unassuming and a delight to be around,

Hannah Rarity is blessed with the most beautiful voice in any setting, but the fine acoustics of the Royal Concert Hall made this really special. Just a shame that she was the support act - she is more than worthy of headlining and I am sure will do so at future Celtic Connections.

Fantastic brilliant night Natalie is a fantastic wee chanter and the band were great. I took my 17 year old daughter as I don't think we will see her in Scotland again. It really was a great night. Additionally Natalie's banter with the crowd was funny and inspiring shes a clever lass.

Just incredible, truly a beautiful woman who sings like an angel, 3 hours no support and an incredible stage whose setting only beaten by the acoustics which merchant used to her fullest potential, could not be happier

It’s been about 10 years since I last seen Anastacia well what a night & the Glasgow crowd were 100% behind her 🎶 from start to finish outstanding the amazing dancers , the band & the whole atmosphere outstanding & a marriage proposal fantastic , please come back again soon & thank you Glasgow you did us proud x

After the best part of 45 years, they appear to have the perfect musicians to back up their impressive lyrics and back catalogue. It was exceptional in delivery and the warmth from the crowd was overwhelming at times. Enjoyed it immensely and Slap and Tickle was the standout ( the keyboard player was having a ball ). Couldn’t recommend them enough.

Chan was in fine voice tonight, and every one of the band played it just right. Some of the songs bear little resemblance to what appear on record but are even more interesting for it.

Waited 40 years to see Sheffield’s finest, ABC, and they didn’t disappoint. A lavish production with a 40 piece orchestra in support. Martin Fry’s voice is as powerful as ever and the many highlights included a lovely rendition of ‘All of My Heart’ and a wistful ‘Ocean Blue’. Only quibble is that the orchestra demand a venue that can accommodate them and in Glasgow that’s the Royal Concert Hall which is an all seated venue. Most of the audience were itching to stand or dance which the classical venue inhibited somewhat.

This is the best post-Anderson gig I've seen. It was a cracking set. The tribute to Alan was a beautiful thing and elicited quite a few murmurs of appreciation for the great man. The band were very comfortable on stage. Steve was on fire, despite a couple of sound issues. Jon D's voice was fantastic. Geoff's keyswork was great, with recognisable Wakeman motifs, but with his own flourishes to make his mark. Billy's bass playing was uncannily like the much-missed Chris' at times. Obviously, not having Alan there was quite the emotional wrench, but Jay has come into his own over the last couple of tours, as he had to shoulder more of the playing. There was a moment at the start of Siberian Khatru where the guitar Steve was using caused significant crackling in his amp. Changing to his trusty Strat sorted the problem and, in my opinion, the sound was much warmer anyway. It was also great to see Roger Dean talking about his work and the slide show was fantastic. Shame he didn't have all that much time, as I'd quite happily have listened to him for twice as long.

The band were fantastic as usual, but the show was spoiled for us by some drunk, obnoxious females behind us who shouted all the way through the show. They were spoken to by an usher, but continued after he had gone. People like that should be ejected if they continue after a warning. There were others who complained as well.

Amazing as always. Fourth time seeing these guys and I’m sure they are better than the originals!! Singing, guitar playing and banter all brilliant, and great to learn about the history of some incredible pieces of music. Still don’t think the concert hall is the best venue - kings theatre feels a bit more intimate and more dancing!! Will still definitely be back next time they’re in Glasgow!

Went to this concert on my birthday gift with friends on the 28th Jan 2022. Concert venue is very modern with all public toilet access and 3 bars to choose from with a cafe. The Anoushka gig was amazing and orchestra was crystal clear...Highly recommend next time on going.
