I couldn’t have asked for a better show from Colt Graves. He sounds incredible even while actively losing his voice and is one of the sweetest artists I’ve had the pleasure of meeting. It was a smaller crowd but he was still very active with his crowd work. Even shot gunned a beer with a lovely lady on stage! Can’t wait for him to come back to Des Moines!
This was an amazing show. The Monday night live band is incredible and Jeni with them unbelievable. 🫶 she succeeded in bringing most of the crowd to tears with her moving lyrics and beautiful voice.
BJ Barham has got it going on. Whether with his band, Ameriican Aquarium, or out on a solo tour, he takes command of the stage and captivates the crowd. Last night, his show at XBK Live was as intimate as a backyard family gathering and as entertaining as anything you could hope for. As a songwriter, BJ has become a master of his craft. I drove from Omaha, Nebraska, to see the show, and it was well worth the trip. A great venue and a stellar performance.
The guys in Get Off My Lawn always bring it. If you miss the clear instrumentation and rich vocal harmonies from the 60's and 70's, check out Get Off My Lawn. From The Beatles to The Band, and Crosby Stills & Nash to Traveling Wilburys, you won't be disappointed. You'll hear The Who, Pink Floyd, Tom Petty and many more classic artists from music's greatest generation. You don't have to be a "Boomer" to enjoy this band. You'll have a groovin' time.
Radkey brought a fantastic sound to an enjoyable venue. Can't wait to catch them again. Very excited to see where Bat Problem will go, first gig went great!
First, XBK is a gem of a spot and I hope it can sustain life for a long long time.
Second, Dickie's EP release performance was absolutely stellar. To say that Dickie and the band are dialed in right now is an understatement. It's amazing that we are able to witness such talent in such an intimate setting in our humble little city.
I found Ekoh through being a fan of Skydxddy. My husband started listening to him and plays his music everyday. I enjoyed his music prior to seeing him live but really got the tickets to this show more for my husband. Unfortunately he wasn’t able to make it, so I took my mom instead, and we had an amazing time.
I really enjoyed both opening acts, Dead Silent and Ryan Oakes. They both have a new fan for sure.
Ekoh’s performance was amazing. I’ve been binging his albums all day today and while phenomenal, they don’t do his live performances justice. I had such a great time and can’t wait to go to his next show nearby. Hopefully he comes back soon ♥️
The show was amazing! Heard Ekoh a couple years ago on Octane radio and his lyrics really clicked with me. Love how he combines a rap style lyric with a rock beat!
Never saw him before. It was a Tuesday night in Des Moines. This guy brought it, filling the space with the energy from the band. I'll definitely catch them again!
This was a wonderfully enjoyable concert. Sounded like a greatest hits album. I was sore two days later from dancing so much. xBk is such a wonderful, small venue.
Just moved to DSM in July and have seen Dickie at Porch Fest, Alluvial Brewing and xBk. He and his band keep us spellbound with the beauty of the music, lyrics and joy shared by the band members.
Was an amazing show! He sounds even more amazing live. I got the tickets for my fiancés b-day and he was so happy and excited, he truly loves this group so much and we both enjoyed the amazing vibes and music. Both groups did amazing.
It’s was wonderful to have Chicago Farmer & the Field Notes back in Des Moines and hope it’s a regular and more frequent stop when they’re on the road.
One of the best shows I've ever been to. Alana has an amazing voice and such an infectious personality. She knows how to connect with an audience and people in a way that few young artists can. It won't be long before she's playing much bigger venues, she's way too talented not to hit it big. Go see her, you won't be disappointed.
This show was AMAZING! With the opening act ill, and unable to perform, Chicago Farmer and The Field Notes played two incredible sets. We have seen Chicago Farmer a number of times. This was the first time seeing him with a band. What a night! Cannot wait to see them again!
Willi Carlisle was an absolute entertainer from beginning to end. This was a show for the history books, I will remember this one for as long as I live. With just his voice and a variety of instruments, Carlisle created a transcendent night of folk songs, alternative country, and interesting ideas about life and the world we live in.
XBK was great as usual, and is always a fantastic venue for live music.
I had a great time. The venue was fairly packed which I did not expect. I was able to get up relaly close to stage and hung around after the show to get a picture with Elise.
Pretty sick music, small crowd and 1 or 2 violent nutcases in the pit if you could call it that. Pretty sure they got kicked out. Great otherwise.
Amazing! The venue was great, the chemistry between everyone performing was fantastic and the singers all hung out for a meet and greet after the concert. Truly an outstanding experience.
Honestly not a big fan of any of these bands, just went to hang out with friends but The Browning put on a great show!
