Davy was fantastic! He always puts on a great show. Davy is one of the greatest guitar players ever!
This was my 87th show. He started off with Gronimo Caddie. Then talked about Mike Nesmith and the Monkies and played, What Am I doing Hangin Round. Then talked about John Denver and how he wrote, Boy from The Country for St Frances of Assis. Then some of his 80's Country Hits. Played for a good 2 hrs.
It was an awesome show. Can't wait to have them return. They were my dad's favorite group. Sadly he passed a couple years ago. Loved the Statler Medley the best.
Absolutely love these guys!! I first saw them in 2022 when they came to the Wildey theater and it was really awesome to see them play. I had just come through two heart surgeries back to back and my spirits were quite low. I felt rejuvenated and alive after I saw the concert. I wish I would’ve taken the time to tell the guys what it really meant to me, but we had to get going. I’ve seen them every time they’ve been at Edwardsville and will continue to see them in the first seeable future. You guys make me feel like I was 20 years old again and remembering seeing what Van Halen was. Keep up the excellent work and I so look forward to seeing you guys in the near future of 2025. Rock on!
Great music at a great venue. Hope Annie is ok after taking a tumble. She was a real performer and didn't interfere with the show going on.
Great Night
The show was awesome! Cowboy Bill gave a great performance!! As always, he was very funny and engaged the audience very well throughout the show. His story telling is on point, made me feel like I was sitting with him, having a beer, and chatting by the firepit (and no the building was not on fire!). Meet and greet afterwards was equally enjoyable. Cowboy Bill made sure everyone that wanted to take a photo or just have a chat with him was able to do so with no rush. He was a down to earth comedian who made me feel like I was his friend for many years! Thanks to him and his support team, especially Michele with one L, whom I would love to meet but I happy she keeps Cowboy Bill doing what we all love, his comedy and ability to bring us together and have fun! Thanks!! See you next time for sure!!
Just wow ... intimate venue, 329 seats. Nektar was in good form, I think the new cd Mission To Mars may bring back some of the lost older audience and some fresh new faces. Nektar was a big part of me 1973 - 74, this show brought me back to those days except for having a good ol' puff mother nature. Long time needed. Waiting for the cd drop of the complete Mission To Mars
2 fantastic shows at the Wildey in Edwardsville yesterday. Some of us were lucky enough to get two soundchecks as well with VIP admissions. Fans from the Netherlands, New Mexico and Minnesota among the usual crowd for the St Louis area were well satisified.
2.5 hour shows highlighted the new "MIssion From Mars"" album with all cuts from this included in a diverse set-list that visited much of their extensive back-catalogue. Remember The Future Pt 1 drew standing ovations at both shows. The new light-show after MIck Brokett's retirement was timed to reflect each performance piece and remains integral to the performance. Nice job, Jay!
The venue is special, the sound was bright and clean, so we were all rewarded with a fantastic time. Thank you to the band for their efforts and that of their staff as well. Also Thank you to Al Canal again for booking our favorite band into your space and putting on a class act in a first class theater
Great venue ($6 beers..cheap!) very intimate, we were in the last row of the balcony and the seats were great. Sound was perfect and Albert rocked us. My only complaint was featuring the keyboard player too often. I go see Albert Cummings to hear him play his guitar not to listen to keyboard jams.
We actually attended the 3pm and the 8pm show at the wildey.
The group was great. We really felt like we got our money's worth.
They played alittle over 2 hours and they continue to improve every time we see them.
They all did an amazing job!
Absolutely amazing, the meet and greet was fantastic and Glenn is such a humble man. His love for his fans and the music shows through in all his work. His voice is still the “voice of rock” even in his 70’s. If you have a chance to see him, make it a priority. Would love to see a triple bill of Joe Lynn Turner, Whitesnake, and Glenn Hughes!
Fantastic show. His voice is otherworldly. Just amazing. Show of the year so far. He signed & Trapeze, Deep Purple & BCC albums.
Missed them on tour back in the 80's and 90's so I'd thought I'd try them out. This event was sandwiched between two other concert events I was doing in a 3 days span so my review might have a lot to do with that but no warm up band and a somewhat short show meant
I should have missed this event however the Wildey theater is a great place for concerts
Great show, LA Guns still have it. Love the fact there was no opener, just wish they would have played longer since there was no opener.
My first concert was David Lee Roth on the Skyscraper tour... I never got to see him with Van Halen. These guys make up for that. It was an amazing show. I will come back every time they visit Edwardsville. I'm bad with names, but the lead singer has managed to emulate David Lee Roth both physically and vocally even down to the weird mannerisms and stupid faces DLR makes. Truly a talented group of guys.
Despite being out of the limelight since 1998, Brother Cane has not lost a step. Brother Cane had a tight, solid sound that we are familiar with. There were two new song that rock, Blinded by the Sun and Are you in there anymore. The intimacy added to great concert experience.
Great show. His voice is very strong. This is the 68th show of his that I saw. I got to carry in his guitar and hang around back stage.
John remains enthusiastic through his l-o-n-g career! Thanks for bringing me such tremendous musical joy for decades. The cellist was awesome. Well, the whole band is awesome. Would really like to have had a real flute and not a synthesized version. Now if we could get Justin, Mike, & Denny on stage with John Lodge at the same time in my lifetime...
Can't find a better venue for Any concert than Wildey Theater in Edwardsville, MO
It was quite enjoyable. Would have loved to hear Marvelous Moses and It's All Over which they played the following night
I am so sad that my tickets went unused and i had to miss this. :( Thanks to Hurricane Ian my fiance' had to unexpectedly go to Florida with his job to do clean up. Hopefully i can catch them again soon.
