My son took me to the Armory on Easter for the show. I wouldn’t know the difference between MMJ and a polka band as I had not heard their music before.
Oh my was I in for a treat!!!
Excellent show. Great sound at the venue.
Dave Simonet from TBT joined the band on stage to sing a duet with Jim James: “Wonderful”.
That was beautiful.
My favorite was “touch me I’ll scream.
Wow!!!
Then as one of the encores they performed a cover of The Twin Cities very own Prince - “purple rain”
What can I say - nailed it.
Thank you for an awesome concert!!!
Militarie gun were OK, people who love similar music could like them as well. Nothing special.
DRAIN were awesome, great energy from the vocalist especially and from the rest of the band. The sound was lit.
The Garden were horrible, at first I thought it was some kind of a joke, but it was not. I cringed thru their the whole set.
Knocked Loose were amazing, as if they were from the other planet, just another calibre band.
1. Knocked Loose, 2. Drain, 3. Militairie Gun\The Garden.
The Armory is a nice place to be, the personell is professional and respectable. Thank you!
Of the four bands playing Seether was the disappointment. Instead of interacting with the crowd they did this weird very heavy on the reverb guitar riffs between songs to the point you didn't know what song was starting. Vocally they weren't as consistent as the other bands either. I wouldn't see them live again unless they were at a festival or something.
Her voice is unreal. I love her recorded songs but you have to see her in person to really understand how great of a singer she is. Not only that but she is a great dancer and just a genuine person. She loves her fans and I am so glad I was able to see her perform. One thing I would say is that she should find someone else to open for her. Presley Regier really brought down the energy and people weren’t even paying attention to his songs. Other than that the show was great. The venue was good as well. Be prepared to stand for a while though
When an artist can bring you to tears through their art, it's remarkable. Ben does that to me every time! I'm a mess at every show. My daughter, Willow, had a life changing experience here when she was lifted up by Ben on stage and then by the fans chanting her name. Thank you for another fantastic show, we can't wait until next time!
5sos had never failed to make an amazing tour. With themed streamers and confetti to purity, the show was incredible. Playing new songs all the way back to the self title says? As a late fan that felt incredible as if I was there back then. Everyone was perfect and funny and I pray another tour comes sooner than later when they’re ready. Forever cherishing outer space! See 5sos❤️💛
This was an amazing concert. They were playing with Yellowcard and both band’s debut albums were 20 years old! Both have “Avenue” in the title too.
I grew up with these guys and it was my first time seeing them.
I was always so broke as a kid it’s nice to be able to see these bands that have made such an impact on me. They played mostly stuff from Page Avenue which was amazing.
They rocked! I will always be a SOTY fan! Long live the early 2000’s rock!
Marcus comped me 2 free tickets to the sold out show when I ran into him at the Rival Sons show at the Filmore. He’s a class act all the way and him and the band never disappoint. Also got to visit with Stephen after the show, awesome bass player and generous with his time! 4th time seeing them and I’m definitely a life long fan and can’t wait to see them again.
People need to learn how to handle their liquor.. which isn't gravy's fault.. but they stopped the show constantly to turn the lights on and help Security find the messed up people in the crowd. That, on top of the crowd sing-a-longs (MCR, 4 Non Blondes, etc.) I felt like there was 30 minutes of wasted show that could have been my favorite Gravy/bbno$ songs :(
That being said- I had so much fun! Gravy shows feel like you're hanging out at a house party with Gravy and friends even though we were actually in a huge venue.
I loved the show! My best friend and I got tickets and we LOVED every second of it! We purposely got the Club level (Level 2) at the Armory in Minneapolis, even though we both stayed sober and intended to the entire time. We chose this area because we are dealing with a stalker/sexual predator situation and the person in question is under 21 so we knew that with the IDs and high security we would be safest in the club level. The VIP and performances were absolutely killer. Shout out to Chris Motionless and Spencer Charnas for the amazing experience; my friend and I can say that we have never had so much fun at a show before this one and we have never felt safer. Also, as I promised Ricky Olson from Motionless In White in 2019, I showed him my first tattoo and the band remembered me and said that they still had the rose teddy bear lanterns I made for them before COVID and it made my heart so happy.
My only complaint is in regards to venue security. It was great that security was very attentive to the crowds and bands and such, but I cannot understand the usage of strobe flashlights and shining them in people’s faces during medical situations. I have epilepsy and Club West security kept waving their flashlights in my face on a strobe setting. I never had an issue with Club East security doing that to me. If someone says they have epilepsy, DO NOT wave a fucking strobe in their eyes or they could have a seizure. Club West, do better and don’t be assholes about someone having epilepsy or another invisible disability. Club East, thank you for not being obnoxious with the flashlights and being considerate the second I said “EPILEPSY” and not ruining my experience by causing a seizure.
Maren truly rocked it. Loved her energy, swagger, song writing, and music! The band was very good as were the acoustics of the Armory. The Lone Bellow was a perfect warm up band and I'm a follower of both Maren and The Lone Bellow. And, Maren's "people" were very well behaved and truly nice.
Kehlani was great 😊 I had an interesting time at this venue… I really don’t like the armory very unorganized and I would advise everyone to get a seat if you can. GA is not worth the fight or the struggle. People were pushing, fighting, and passing out. But I think it all depends on who you see because Snoh aalegra show was not this wild. But overall I had a good time even though I was tired once kehlani hit the stage. But I would definitely want to see her again 🌊💙
(Pro-tip: bring ear protection if you want to be able to hear in the morning. I always do and I never regret it. Trust me- it’s plenty loud even with them in.)
Visually- these kind of concerts don’t disappoint. The venue is perfect as the smoke and lights are bright and easy to see. The monitors on stage produce incredible graphics too.
The roof keeps the elements from ruining the music and everyone is in a good mood.
My only critic about going to EDM concerts is the DJs play a bunch of random beats and they don’t play their singles.
This seems to be the only genre where, depending on the DJ, they only play random tracks or samples instead of the music we love.
I got tired and left around 12 pm- so maybe the later part of DeadMau5’s concert was better, but I wish they would play their tracks versus the beats.
BEST SHOW EVER!!!! All of the acts were superb! I came to see Flogging Molly, and now I have three new favorites: The Skints, Tiger Army, and the Interrupters. The Interrupters weren't there due to Covid, but I met a guy at the show who drove 4 hours to see them so I listened to them on the way home. I understand why he drove 4 hours to see them, their sound is slamming!
And Flogging Molly....
It was my first time seeing them live and they were EPIC! The whole house was jumping, dancing, singing, laughing, crying, shouting along with the music. If I could, I'd follow them around and go to every show. It was an incredible performance. Absolutely fantastic!
The Armory is the perfect size, with great concrete floors for dancing and plenty of bars/concessions throughout--no lines for drinks even in a large crowd. So in all regards, this show exceeded all expectations and was superlative in every way!
I’ve seen all the best rock, hard rock and metal bands in the world since 1980…. Hundreds of shows… Gojira is easily in my top 10. Their sound was sharp, thick, tight, loud, crisp, heavy and in flawless sync with a light show that was second to none. WOW.. I was blown away. Thank you for melting my face Gojira!!
It was a long 2 year wait to see Russ!! I am so glad we finally got to go. At one point during the show he stopped because there was something going on in the crowd. I’m unsure if it was a fight or medical emergency as I could not see the situation, but he stopped his song and made it a point to get security to the person/people needing assistance. He also requested that the water get handed to more than just the front few rows, as that was all that was getting water handed to them for a good amount of time. The respect for him definitely grew with how attentive and concerned he was for the crowd!!
I was so happy that I got to see H.E.R. performing, she is such a complete artist. She sings, she plays the guitar, the drums, the piano, is insane! The crowd was going craaaazy during the whole show. I came from Florida to see her in Minneapolis, and she made it extra especial, because since it was the town that Prince was born, she wanted to make a tribute to him, and she sang a brand new unreleased song for us! It was amazing, will definitely see her again whenever I have the opportunity.
They burnt the fn house down!!!🔥🎶🎸🎙
Best show I've been to in a long time!
Set list was kick ass!! Guitar talent was amazing, and Cody rocked the mic!!
They kicked the doors open with "FROGMAN" and it was jam after jam the rest of the night! Already checking the tour to see when I can see them next. 🔥🎶🤘🏼😎🤘🏼🎶🔥
Amazing show, 311 continue to be a must-see live show. You could argue that the set list was a little “greatest hits” heavy, that probably had to do with it being a radio station concert. Crowd was jacked and got crazier as the show went on. Band sounded awesome, Applied Science drum solo was insane. Awesome band. Highly Suspect was also excellent and i wish their set could have been longer, musically very tight, the lead singer is a great front man, knows how to work the crowd. Worthy of being a headliner just not over 311 but they’ll get there. Impressive.
Jon put on a great show as usual. He kept the crowd engaged and was energetic the whole time. The openers were great and interested the crowd even when no one knew the songs. The VIP experience was great and worth the money. The crowd was good as well, I was at the barricade and didn’t get pushed at all.
