The Bassment

I went to the concert at the Bassment with my sister who had seen Barbara and band perform a few weeks ago. I loved the concert. I thought the band members were very talented and I loved their solos. I loved the music, especially the songs that Barbara had written -- they spoke to her own life and experiences, many of which are shared with others in this time! I really enjoyed her singing -- her voice, her intensity and passion -- and her expressive interpretation/presentation of the songs. I loved her "patter", the little vignettes of her life that she shared between songs. I especially loved the fact that all the band members seemed to be really enjoying themselves -- and that energy transferred to the audience who also enjoyed what was being presented. Thanks for a fabulous concert and a memorable evening.

I was fortunate to see/hear Barbara at the Orangeville Music Festival a few weeks aga. She and her band were the stand-out act for me. I was thrilled to learn that she would be performing in my hometown during my annual visit to Saskatoon. She did not disappoint! During the pandemic I would wonder how artists would interpret those years. Her song "Hello from my basement" perfectly capture that longing for connection that we were missing. Thanks for a great evening!
