What a brilliant show. This was as close as you could get to bring transported back to 1970 - 1973. The Musical Box are more than a tribute band. They are a historically 100% accurate re-enactment of Genesis.
The levellers are a force to be reckoned with, they maybe older (we all are ) they were on top form tonight. Sometimes the force of Mark’s vocal faulted slightly, but it didn’t seem to matter, in fact once the audience stood up(we were forced to sit down some of the gig) the atmosphere changed massively. They let themselves go both emotionally and in terms of the singing and playing it was actually a little bit rougher which made it sound significantly better. The whole experience was of a band that was on top form despite their advanced years. I was unsure about Daniel Donnelly but after the first notes of four boys lost it was all calm again, he can sing and play, he is a LEVELLER.
And the best bit was was over by 10.00
Lovely venue, easy to find by public transport as well as independent travel.
The band were fab, as they have been each time I have seen them. Line up included a medical substitute which changed the vocal sound but did not detract from the fantastic music.
For me the overall sound was a little light on the vocals making the words more indistinct than at other venues………….could be the acoustics of the Forum. We still had a great night and will come to see the next concert in our area for sure. Loved it.
Awesome show - pure entertainment from the word go by a very talented group of musicians and singers.
Loved every minute and can’t wait to see them again
The Forum is an excellent location to see a show - comfy seats, plenty of leg room, great visibility and brilliant sound quality. Being in the centre of Bath easy to get to and plenty of restaurants on the door step
I saw they were on a week before and thought 'why not'? I enjoyed their lively songs in the 80's. And what a really great gig it was. It really stands out to me amongst the many bands I've seen live. Love the instruments, Nick's voice is excellent, lively energy, great songs, in sync, friendly and fun..... I had a great dance!
PS I was so impressed with Nick holding it together through Preston rain and sound failure recently....I'd just been admiring how in time and in tune he was compared to so many singers when he told the audience his earpiece hadn't been working at all in the first songs!
What a show, by Tom Bailey, truly the best.
Takes you back to the 80:s & a few new tunes too.
His band the sister of Mercy, what great musicians.
I highly recommend taking in one of their shows.
The best 🎶🎶🎶🎶
Great to see Big Country again on this tour as the South - West was largely abandoned for the crossing in the previous year. Simon Houghs vocal were as good as I can remember. He has grown into this position well. Steeltown is a loud brash album and with all that noice it is possible to lose the tune of the lead guitar. That was the case on occasions. The Icicle works were a great support
Brilliant as in all of the last 10+ years we've seen Jools and guests pre Christmas. Forum is also a great venue - much nicer than Colston Hall/Beacon.
Oh my God, it was a powerful and beautiful. I didn’t want it to end at all. We were blessed and for us a dream come true to finally meet them 🙏
The Forum is always great as they let you leave your seats to dance in front of the stage unlike some venues where they practically shackle you to your chair.
The Christians are class every time. I’ve seen them many times in their own right and it was amazing to have such a high calibre band as support.
Level 42 rarely disappoint in terms of performance (although a slightly disappointing set list). Some key tunes were missing in my view in favour of more obscure album fillers - but that keeps the die-hards happy and with such a big catalogue to choose from, someone is always going to be disappointed.
Overall, a brilliant night out.
Yet again watching the Illegal Eagles was a great show. You guys are so true to the Eagles sounds at times I had tears in my eyes.
Tequila Sunrise wow I loved it. Well all of the show. Hotel California to end the show brought the house down.
Keep playing you are so so good.
Thanks for the pleasure you give.
Ps one request any chance of doing “A New York Minute” a big favourite of mine and myself.
Alfie and the band were amazing, especially the two lead guitars! The content was really interesting, not much from previous releases mainly new songs Alfie had written (really good!) and rock from the new album but those songs are well known so still great to sing along to when he prompted us. His usual exuberant leaping about, running through the audience etc and his fantastic sense of fun brings so much energy to the show, he really does know how to put on a show! The meet and greet is not worth the money though - no actual meet or greet just queue up and get a photo, no chance to get anything signed or even say 'hello how are you'.
Simply awesome. Incredible set including some Genesis and Roachford’s Cuddly Toy as well as all of their hits. Second time I’ve seen them live and they were as good as ever. Loved every minute!
This was Elles stripped back, with just her and Joe Wilkins on the large Forum stage. Other than on an excellent version of Light in the Distance, delivered solo on gospel piano (and dedicated to the memory of QEII), it was just Elles's voice and tambourine accompanied by Joe's wondrous guitar and subtle backing vocals. Elles was in excellent voice throughout, and the 30 minutes (this was a support set on the Don McLean tour) flew by, finishing with a rousing Sunshine City.
Omg! They were absolutely incredible, such an amazing night and best ever. I hope they play in Cardiff or Swansea soon. The people in Wales are famous for our music and singing and love the Mavericks. We’d give them such a great and warm welcome 🏴 🎶💃🥰
The concert was absolutely brilliant 🤩. The Mavericks certainly know how to put on a very polished show which appeals to any age.
How many Band’s today can write their own music and deliver with such conviction, still touring after 30 years, sounding better and better and
sound just the same “live,” if not better, as they do on any of their recordings !!!!!
Raul is a genius. His singing range is second to none, whereas he can sing anything and also brilliant musician. Equally the other Band members are brilliant musicians which make up the iconic THE MAVERICKS. Love these guys,
Kurt Vile and the Violators were great, amazing sound! Venue was cute and supplied us with replacement tickets easily!
The wait between the support and Kurt was too long but that's the only negative.
Good in parts. Sound balance was OK rather than great, and Elvis appeared to struggle at times with the range and speed of his lyrics.
When it all came together on his best tracks it was sublime, wish that could have been more consistent.
Cracking gig, nice to hear old & newish songs in there new form, Danny voice was just amazing along with the rest of the band, a mention to the great backing singers too.
Excellent performance and great banter between the music and a unique night as it was his first cancelled concert ever a few weeks ago and tonight rescheduled and Rick apologised for being ill always a great entertainer in music and stories a memorable night for all at the bath forum!
