I was front of the crowd against the barricade, stage right if you’re on stage- stage left if you’re in the crowd… this concert ended up being way more meaningful than I had initially thought it would be. SSPU has been apart of my life and favorite bands since I was Eight and I never thought I’d be in a place in time to see them play live never mind being so close- I cried basically the whole time.
Chevelle never fails to give a flawless performance. A great mix of older and newer songs were on the setlist (actually they performed some additional songs that were not on the published setlist, much to the delight of the fans). Thank you Chevelle for headlining in NJ!
First time seeing 3 bands. Missed Mike is Dead. All three were great. Engaging and entertaining. In this moment killed it with theatrics and stage presence. Only knock is that wish sound was a little better at Wellmont.
What a fantastic lineup and overall experience! There’s nothing like seeing metal bands live; especially the crowd surfing 🤣. I was mainly looking forward to seeing Amon Amarth, but after watching Frozen Soul, Obituary and Cannibal Corpse perform, it definitely made me become more interested in their music 🤘
Hammerfall was great as always. Superb performance, great stage presence, and above all, excellent songs. I have no idea how a band of this quality can be around this long and not be selling out areas across the world, including the US. There are not too many bands out there that continuously produce such quality albums on a regular basis.
Every Metal Head and Hard Rock fan should be supporting and enjoying them.
Driver era was awesome as always. Was so cool to have them play some old R5 stuff for those of us that have loved and followed them forever.
Their opening act however…….dont know where they found her but they could’ve let her tour with someone else.
The show was amazing, W.A.S,P are one of the best band to come out of the sunset strip era of metal music !! Armored Saint was a great fit for the show also one of the best bands from the 80's metal era and both bands are still going strong !! W.A.S.P needs to come back to New York and play the Paramount Hudson Vally Theater.
Corey never disappoints and goes full throttle from end to end. Great front man. He knows how to control the stage and audience. Good mix of slipknot, stone sour, new solo and a cover or two. A little metal, hard rock, standard rock, ballad, classic rock. For the music lover.
Skid Row was awesome on Friday lead singer Eric is unbelievable seems beautifully energy was high everything was high the only thing was I wish the drums the bass and the guitar or a little downplayed and the vocals you can hear them better it seemed to me the sound system was a little off are the engineer might have programmed it that way but everything else was awesome
Skid Row is better than ever with Erik Gronwall singing with them. This was my second time on this tour seeing them and they are consistently top notch. These guys truly enjoy being on stage and it shows. Go see them, its worth your time and money.
they never disappoint. It's just a seamless, consistent onslaught of pummeling high energy, high musicianship. Just a pleasure to watch the playing and feel the bottom end in your gut. Unfortunately for me, The Acacia Stain were awful. But they only made you appreciate what real musicians and performers can do, since the huge disaparity between both bands was palpable. You just didn't want it to end. My ears did, but I did not. Chris Adler must be beating himself with his drumsticks for giving up the drum kit behind the only band his style fit like a glove. But Art Cruz is a more than worthy replacement, and now brings more of a slight swing to giving everything a Bohnmamesqe funky edge. I have enough merch already, but I couldn't resist grabbing yet another LOG t shirt. It looked like the Ticketmaster seat chart was only only about half full in the balcony, but it was pretty full last night. I'm thinking a lot of people just walked up to avoide TM's criminal fees. I kept thinking, as a local, Wellment is going to stop doing metal shows, and LOG are probably going to phone it in given the higher profile gigs they've played lately. Nope. They crushed. And Cruz even jumped offstage and whooped it up with the pit after the show for about twenty minutes, taking pix, giving people the set lists off the floor. They had as a good a time as we did.
This show was excellent!! Justin played quite few songs and sounded great with every one he sang!
For the venue: The tickets said 7pm but the doors never opened until 7pm and the show did not start until just about 8pm. Very disappointing to be there so early only to have to wait just about an hour to get in the building.
While Justin made it definitely worth the wait, the tickets should have had the correct time on them.
Justin Hayward and his incredible music never fail to delight his fans! His selection of songs brought back wonderful memories of the Moody Blues - Tuesday Afternoon and Nights in White Satin - which sounded awesome and were a major delight for the audience.
Mike Dawes is an excellent performer who truly seems to enjoy every moment on stage. His flutist was amazing, and the keyboard player who I have seen many times before is excellent.
The only bad part was that he shared the show with Christopher Cross. He is talented, but to have Justin as the "warm-up" seemed ridiculous. In addition, the band that CC had was extremely talented but WAY TOO loud so you couldn't hear the singer! Someone in the audience kept yelling out to lower the volume of his band but to no avail.
We were one of MANY who left after only several songs.
All in all, a great night!
The venue was great. Drinks were as little expensive though. The set was 2 hrs long with a full acoustic set in the middle. It reminded me of when they used to pull the couch out in earlier tours. They played songs we haven’t heard live in a while too which was great
Show was great and the band seemed excited to be there. Song selection was a good mix of his solo work and plenty of Alice In Chains hits to keep the crowd happy. I’ve never sat in the balcony before at the Wellmont Theater but the sound upstairs was just so so. Would definitely go see him again.
The show did not disappoint! I have seen both Mammoth and Alterbridge a few times but so worth it. Both singers have unique and incredible ranges and are extremely humbled by the outpouring of support from the fans. So great to see in a smaller venue when both bands are also capable of playing to larger crowds. That’s why I love the Wellmont environment and experience so much!
Black Label Society as always never disappoints. Great set list & as always Zakk, Dario, John & Jeff rocked the house… Anthrax was great too & the bonus of having Exodus on the bill was great. Wellmont Theater, is one of the best places to see great bands. Staff, security & sound quality are top shelf!!
Love 'Blackie'/Steven! I am a lifelong fan, 1st time concert (age 49). (Blackie knows who I am! I was at the front of the lower platform, where the lighting & sound/technicians were (I kept dancing with the heart in the air!!!) The music was, as always, to be expected, ELECTRIFYING!!! I was very sad though, that 2 songs went so long (chainsaw charlie-the guitar solo could have gone into a few other songs, for fans to keep the energy going as it got a 'dark' sad vibe at this point). I was also disheartened, that we did not get to hear Golgatha &/or, Heaven's Hung in Black. (it was actually on a setlist that I had viewed a week before the concert, there were many in my area that were expecting to hear these 2 & a few more songs...We ALL gave a STANDING OVATION, because the energy was THAT STRONG...as Blackie stated, the ticket companies did not think they could sell as many tickets as they did & several shows are close to, or, ARE, SOLD OUT!!! I could not afford the meet and greet, because I really wanted to share with Steven, that my son was Native American Indian & had diedm & between the snowflake on the ceiling, & the t-shirt with my son's name on it, were 2 signs, that my son's spirit was there with us. My goal for a meet & greet, would have been to ask, for him to get involved, or start up a foundation for Native Americans, (no matter what age) that helps Natives suffering/mental health issues, such as Native Americans dealing with suicide.
As for Armored Saint, the lead singer was sick & although the fill-in singer was able to keep his vocals strong, it certainly was not what the crowd paid for & we were most certainly expecting the actual lead singer. Sadly, a let-down for a 1st time concert goer such as myself & honestly, I had never heard of Armored Saint, so, I WAS expecting to hear the original front-man. It was not until tonight, (a day after the concert, that I had viewed a web page, that I was made aware that the lead singer was not singing.
This is the third time I’ve seen her, but right up front of the stage this time.First off Classless Act and Joyous Wolf were great and Dorothy was better than the last 2 times seeing her. Amazing voice and really seems to love being a rocker!! Long live rock!! Only wish they could’ve played a little longer. Looking forward to the next time
Always a great show with Big Bad Voodoo Daddy. Their Holiday show is always a treat around the season. Venue just needs to invest into better seats as they were hard folding chairs that hurt your butt, Honestly for a band like Big Bad Voodoo Daddy you shouldn't be sitting anyway their music moves you to much. Great time!!
