The opening band was just that an opening band. Bullet boys were good but warrant wasn't the same without Jayne Lane. I saw them in their prime in 1996 and saw them today without him and it wasn't the same. It was like seeing and hearing a cover band while they did a good job just wasn't worth the $100 + fees in my opinion.
The show was fantastic! So many great songs that sound as wonderful as they did when they were first recorded. It was apparent the band members were enjoying themselves as much as the audience was. Good ol’ Southern rock and roll at its finest.
Theory of a Deadman put on a remarkable performance at Hoyt Sherman Place. All three bands were exceptional, but Theory of a Deadman truly stood out with their brilliant performance.

The show was great, the venue was awesome. The concert was fabulous. Hope to see him come to Kansas City in the future. I didn't mind driving to Des Moines to see him but it would be great if he came to my home town in the future.
I seen quite a few shows, but few that would qualify as truly amazing. If you have a chance please get tickets to Cat Power Sings Dylan. Chan Marshall’s vocal performance was incredible and her backing musicians were some of the best I’ve ever heard. This is really two concerts in one: a somber intimate first half & a rollicking, rocking 2nd half. If you ever wanted to see Cat Power this is the tour you should not miss.

I'm going to be quite honest: I had not heard of Ben Fuller before he opened for We Are Messengers. I am so happy that he was there though! Ben has an absolutely crazy good voice. His songs and his personal stories were amazing and awe-inspiring!
The show was fantastic! My daughter and I have been all over to see Ann and her band and I would dare to say, this one was my favorite so far. Thank you Ann and Tripsitter for coming to Iowa to see us this time. 💜😃 The musicians in this band with Ann are insanely good!
Hoyt Sherman auditorium is a great place for an event. The intimate setting has seating an acoustics providing an exceptional experience. Chris Botti and the team of musicians he but together were incredible! Amazing show and highly recommend seeing this show if you are able!
What a fun concert! The music and talent was top notch. Chris created an intimate setting with his audience interaction, even jumping off the stage to talk with three student-age audience members during one of the songs he performed. Sy Smith, John Splithoff, Andy Snitzer, and Anastasiia Mazurok are all so talented, and Chris adding them to the concert bill was a great decision. A very uplifting evening of music.
Dylan put on a great live performance! All songs but one were his own which was great and there was a great number for being an opening act. Afterwards he met fans and was very kind and interactive. As an original fan, I was beyond happy with the night!
My husband and I enjoyed the show very much, also the artist beforehand-Hannah Kerr. We also met his dad, who grew up in the same town we live in (Mason City).
Great night!
It was awesome to have him sing some of his regular songs along with new & classic Christmas tunes. Then to end the show with reading the story from the Gospel of Luke followed by his dad praying and the singing of Silent Night....so moving. Loved the entire evening. A wonderful Christmas gift to us to spend the night in this theatre listening and singing with 1 of our favorite Christian artists!
LIGHTS OUT, MUST SEE SHOW!!! THANKS to Joe, his band mates, their crew (the sound was STELLAR! Nice visuals/lights, too!) and all who made our evening BLISSFUL!!! What a GEM of a venue, too!!! If you’re ever near Des Moines, Iowa stop in for a show or take the self tour of the Hoyt Sherman. Super cool architecture.
Most amazing show I’ve ever seen!!! This man I’ve idolized since I was a kid was so amazing!! And the fact I had an unexpected chance meeting with him as we were waiting for our Lyft from the hotel to the venue was awesome! Something I’ll never forget!!!! What a class act Lindsey is!!!!!
High energy! Rock’n with a trombone. Not what I expected…it was better. Good concert, high energy. Most of the concert was spent standing and funk’n out. Not as good as in New Orleans when he jammed out with Santana but still a lot of fun! Made me wish I had been a band geek in high school instead of a jock!
Overall, I enjoyed it, but it was a little too loud for my old ears. Rick displayed a wide variety of guitars and tossed handfuls of picks to the crowd. I don't think that I've seen any other band employ a twelve-string bass. I had forgotten that Row A of the balcony is set back to accommodate boxes, so the sight lines were not what I expected from Row A. Other than that, it's a great venue. After the show, I tried to get Rick and Robin to sign a photograph which I took in the mid-70's. Unfortunately, we had staked out the crew bus, instead of the band bus, and they were off to Waukegan.
This was our second Boz Scaggs concert. We also attended one last fall in Omaha. While we thoroughly enjoyed that show, this one was even better. There were a couple of personnel changes in the band, but they were tight together. Everyone played well; not one of them ever disappointed. Boz was much more comfortable on stage, after a year of touring since Covid.
The set list was excellent, including six songs from his masterpiece album "Silk Degrees," and the renditions were all spot on. The audience was very appreciative, and was rewarded with two encores of two songs each.
Great concert. Don’t know him personally but he seems like a great guy. Got the crowd into it. Played songs we all wanted to hear. Kept the music going. An hour and a half long. The crowd was full of oldsters. They didn’t press McLean for an encore. I was ready for more the oldsters were heading for the door.
Honestly despite The Goos being my absolute favorite band they always give an amazing show. Robby is awesome to watch on stage because he's always so full of vigor and Johnny is real. He shares his light with the rest of his band and with the crowd. The Unlikely Candidates were fun to watch and even if a lot of the people hadn't heard their music beforehand they definitely were enjoying the upbeat talent they were providing. All in all it was a great show to be privy to.
Kip Moore is awesome! His fans are fanatical for a good reason, this guy rocks! Kip and his band were fantastic! You can see the passion and love of music they bring to their live shows. He's a must see whenever the opportunity to see live comes around.
