The Corner Hotel is an iconic Melbourne venue and I have been going there for many years. There's nothing fancy about the Corner and what you see is what you get. I thought the choice of mixed drinks was a bit restricted. Perhaps what was on offer is aimed at a younger audience, a lot of sweet RTD's but hard to get anything mainstream for the more mature palette I thought. The opening act, Dallas Frasca, was a pleasant surprise. Without her usual band she held the audience well with superb guitar and a powerful voice (reminiscent of Mellissa Etheridge). Would definitely like to see her again. Orianthi put on a powerful display of guitar virtuosity accompanied by an excellent vocal range. Her minimalist band with Justin Andres on bass and Walter Trout on drums was superb. Orianthi delivered a great mix of her own material and some great classics. The addition of a couple of acoustic numbers mid-set was a nice touch before finishing the night with what I think has become her signature piece, a rip-roaring version of Voodoo Child. A very enjoyable night and a fantastic show.
Fantastic venue, awesome support act - Dallas Frasca, well run Meet and Greet with Orianthi and fun concert.
There were a few little amp issues, and it would have been better if you could hear more of the singing, but the guitar playing was amazing and the acoustic set was incredible.
Wonderful night out.
James and the band were fantastic!
The sound was great, but after the duet with Josh (Boys Light Up) the sound was had a lot of distortion.
The Corner is a wonderful venue for live music. We ate dinner in the rooftop bar before the event and the food was excellent and reasonably priced.
The event was brilliant. Ben Moss, played first and was great. Then Grace Petrie performed (with support from Ben. She was so entertaining and engaged the crowd perfectly. Grace's passion and strength is so inspiring and just one of things that make her such a wonderful performer.
Definitely one of my favourite ever gigs.
One of the best concerts I've attended. So mellow, so cozy and the vibe absolutely matched his music genre. His singing is even more beautiful in person. I was in awe.
Amazing! I could feel my hair growing the more the gig went on. Which was fortunate coz I'd had an unsatisfactory haircut earlier in the day. Thank you DZ Deathrays, is there anything you can't do?!
Really enjoyed the show and will definitely attend next time she is in Melbourne.
But I wish she hyped the crowd more. The crowd needed to be invited to mirror her energy and dance too. Music also wasn’t loud enough to overpower people in the crowd singing.
By far one of the best shows I've seen in a long time, in addition to the Candlebox gig 3 days earlier in Brisbane. Both amazing!
I've waited a very long time to see Kevin perform those songs and he certainly didn't disappoint. Was a priviledge to be a part of the crowd at both gigs.
Wrapping up their tour in Melbourne the final show did not disappoint!! The girls delivered playing songs off ‘Bricks are heavy’ album and banter with the audience, bring on a new album!!
Words cannot explain how unreal these guys and their band are! I am still smiling from the concert! Was unreal! Loved every second! Can’t wait to see them again!!
Great for nostalgia, being 31 years since I first saw then... but show was average. Down a guitarist (same as Obituary when they toured twice) and a pretty short set list with no Terrorizer tracks even though it was advertised?
All the bands were amazing! But the venue was disappointing. Security will find any excuse not to let you in or kick you out
And I spent the whole night starring at a pole instead of watching the bands
Amazing as always. We were all crammed in like sardines, but the whole vibe of the place just made me smile. I have no photos to add to this review, simply because I was so wrapped up in the performance that I didn't want to view any of it through a screen. What an amazing, talented storyteller. Loved every minute of it.
Big Scary are one of my Top 5 bands. I'm not great at describing music but their harmonies and dynamic help me get totally lost whilst listening to them. They are and were fabulous live at the Corner Hotel and I can't wait to see them again!
GreT concert by the boys but too many idiots just pushing and shoving
I had to pick up people from the floor
Tales away the good experience a bit
Absolutely loved this gig. The interaction with the crowd, videos accompanying the music etc. it was a beautiful celebration of humanity.
Looking forward to catching Alex next time she plays in Melbourne
Great gig, incredible artist. Love the Corner - best venue in Melbourne- but the lighting was so low it made it harder to see all of the stage.
Dayglow has such great energy and stage presence. Loves to interact with the crowd and the music is simply top notch to begin with. An amazing artist who I would love to come back to Melbourne in the future
Lisa Mitchell is so good to see live. Her voice touches your soul and you go home feeling happy.. don't miss her if she has another concert
Such a great live band that really engages the audience!! I would say they are even better musicians when you see them live compared to the album.
