We came specifically to this show to see the Vandoliers. The first time we saw them was when they opened for Flogging Molly a few years back. I have only seen them twice but my partner has seen them 4 or 5 times now. They never disappoint and we love them! Can't wait to see them again when they are in town.
Never mind their unique musical blend of prog and dm - their live show's production value is far and away the best of any "underground" metal band I have ever seen. I've been attending their shows for years and happy to see them take a big step forward!
I’m 56 years old and needless to say have attended countless concerts in my lifetime. This ranks in the top five! This dude is brilliant with his stage performance and musical arrangement. Felt like I was on a roller coaster ride that I didnt want to end. Hope he comes back soon!
Sounded INCREDIBLE but I couldn’t see a thing. Said it was GA seated but there were way more bodies than seats so I was stood at the back behind tall people 🤷🏻♀️ But Chrissy is a queen and I’m thankful to have gone
Absolutely Insane! I think a woman with one arm stage dived/crowd surfed! 🤯 I don’t think I’ve ever seen more stage divers in my life.. the riffage melted the walls!! S/O to Cheez even tho I didn’t say what’s up..
The show was Awesome, it was great seeing her perform again, and the V.I.P. Meet and Greet was an extremely great look into her new music and how she came to be at the point she is now in her journey and what's next to come. Can't wait till she starts performing at regular local venues again.
The regent is a great venue. The floor slopes down so u can see the stage over the person in front of u.
The white Buffalo is always amazing and may have been the best at this show. I've seen him Over 20 times and this was truly memorizing.
AMAZING. Great choice of an opening act. All the songs sound even BETTER in person which I didn’t think was possible. I met some of the girls before the show and they were so sweet. I had a great time.
The band was prompting their new stuff which was cool but they were not as energetic as I expected. The crowd was not the best either, I was trying to dance and some dudes got upset because I was bumping into them a bit. Otherwise the band was dope. It was cool see an Iconic band from the day still giving it! I hope to see them again because tbh they dope af!!!
This was one of my favorite Of Montreal concerts ever! After 7 times seeing them live, they came back from a 2.5 yr lock down with all of the glam rock energy of a teenage David Bowie. The Regent Theatre is such a great venue , I'm guessing it's a 500 person capacity. The sound was impeccable, I wish they were playing three nights and 50 more songs.
The 3-star review is NOT for the band, it's for the venue (Regent Theatre, DTLA).
If you publicly post that doors are at 7pm & the show is at 8pm, especially on the day of the show, stick to it. I completely missed Dying Wish & half of Stray from the Path because of this & I was there at 8:10pm. Super bummer.
The band was amazing. The venue is ok. I’m getting older and no longer enjoy being packed on the front of the stage which I’m totally cool with. So I stay back and even considered table service. The table service was quoted at $200min (+20% gratuity) which could have also been ok but half the table have horrible views blocked by anyone sitting at the other tables. It used to be standing room and that was great. Now it just took away decent standing room and replaced it with obstructed table views at insane prices (not because of the price but because of the view you’re paying for).
See them, buy their albums, CD’s, tapes, stream them. Birds as a band are part of the recent renaissance of Americana cum folk music cum No Depression style. Allison Russell is a singing treasure.
Bonus was my introduction to the Wood Brothers. Fantastic songs! A great show.
Epic show from start to finish, every band seemed to give it their all and the fans loved it! I am glad to have recorded it and will be editing to share among other fans and those who missed this amazing show.
For a long time Mew has been a contender for my all time favorite band. It was a hard fight between them and two others, but after seeing multiple shows by all three of my top bands I have to say that Mew will go down for me as my all time favorite band. There is nothing like being immersed in one of their shows. They aren't flashy, but between the stunning visuals that they create themselves and the masterful playing of every song (so much so that they sound twice as good as anything on the records) nobody is more innovative with their performance. They always play a long set and for me experiencing it is like a spiritual encounter. This show was particularly profound because they played all of Frengers for the. 20th anniversary. I never thought I'd see Louis Louisa live and this show validated years of being obsessed with this band.
Great show, Bullet Height was also very good and very tight... Awesome performance by both bands. Well worth the time and money. Stabbing Westwards new drummer and Bass player were very tight. The whole band was super. Great vibes. Excellent performance. They still got it... Recomend the show to anyone considering seeing them in there town.... 20 years later and the songs sounds as good today as they did 20 years ago.....maybe even better
Second time I see Chelsea live in LA and she was impeccable as usual.
The encore was ‘Scrape’ which had her crouched on the floor as she sang in her soprano register. That song alone was definitely worth attending her show for the second time, as horrid as the context of the song is.
Picture is her approaching the stage floor as she ends ‘Scrape’.
They were as good as I imagined they would be! I’m bummed I wasn’t able to be up by the stage. Luckily the venue wasn’t that big. I manage to see and hear them from where I was. They need to come back again!
the concert was so much fun and there was actually quite a bit of room for us so my group wasn’t so squished up. but at the final song that’s when everyone was rushing and pushing to get to the front. other than that though, the concert was wonderful and the crowd was good :) <3 you could also definitely see on stage how much fun they were having
