A McMurtry and BettySoo show at the Continental Club is always great. Great classic venue and it's hometown for these two. BS varies things by bringing in different local artists, this time around Bonnie Whitmore in particular. And James and BS sit in on each other's sets more all the time, it seems like. I particularly enjoyed their song selection this time; heard a number of tunes I hadn't heard or hadn't heard much of before.
The down side is that it makes for a late night. 10:00 start time for James, midnight for BS. But as I think about it, it's probably necessary. CC is small and especially with such a cheap cover ($10) I suspect the place would be overrun with an earlier start time. That said, it's worth it. These two are great. And keep in mind I add an hour and a half drive back to SAT to my evening.
Last time I was in the Continental Club, I was there to see Stevie Ray Vaughan. This time I was there to see Marcus King!! Folks, it just doesn’t get any better than that! Marcus King is an amazing young man and guitar player extraordinaire! An old soul for sure! He put on a great show that we will never forget! We had a blast!
Shout out to Dianne Scott and Darci Carlson of the Continental Club. You ladies made our night special! Thank you both! Rock On and Peace!
Marcus is a legend. One of the best guitarists I’ve heard live. Continental Club was perfect venue for him to play. 3+ hour jam session
I’ve seen the Rev probably around 15 times or so going all the way back to around 93/94. He’s always a great time and this was no exception! At this show I hadn’t seen him in about a decade and was wondering how much age had started to wear him down. Answer, not at all! Sure he looked older and you could hear the age in his voice some, but these things just add to his character and take nothing away from the performance. He’s never stopped touring, so at this point playing that guitar is like breathing to him and it shows! If you’ve never seen him, go! If you haven’t seen him lately and are wondering how he’s doing, go see him! He’s doing great! Also The Continental is a great venue for an intimate show.
Fun new rockin' country band. They have a great sound. They have also put on a great show.
Bob never seizes to surprise me. Played a wide array of genres of music. Really knows how to work the crowd.
Great show, this band cooks. Been fun to watch them mature and come into their best musical selves. I see a bright future ahead.
*I had not been to the CONTINENTAL CLUB, in years! EARLY SHOW was perfect! LOVED the show! Girls are still Rockin' IT! I am definitely inspired & energized! Kt😎
Skids never disappoint, tightest 3 piece, amazing show. “Why am I leaving a review?”
You already know this… and if you don’t…(or if you do!)
Go catch a chicken leg and shake it.
Great show !
Excellent venue. Very tight but comfy.
Band was tight! Put on a great show. Only wish I would have is for it to be twice as long. He has so many great songs to play!
The band is an amazing collection of talented musicians, but her voice was the best instrument on the stage.
Great to have her back on the Continental stage again.
Been a Fan for years, but this was the first time I ever saw them Live. Epic! Danced until my feet hurt! Did not disappoint
Great Venue for a GREAT talent! Jake is the BEST and then his guest Eric Johnson! Off the star chart duo! Fans made it SO COOL 😎
Another amazing and fun show by The Peterson Brothers Saturday night! The band was on point and tight and the crowd was fun at the CC.
I can't believe we haven't seen Dale Watson before. It was such a fun night. Lawrence, is a long time friend, "who we hadn't seen in about 10 Year", Is playing in the band. He was great. Everyone should check out Dale Watson, Country at its finest. SOOOO FUN. We will see them again, soon. Thank you, to the Band.
Great show. Dale Watson is an amazing guitar player, singer, and showman. Katy Shore (singer and fiddle player) from Asleep At The Wheel showed up mid-show and played with Dale. They played for over 3-1/2 hours without ever taking a break.
I can’t understand how they are still playing small venues. This band is badass and should have blown up already!
Sweany is the hardest working man in showbiz since James Brown. He straps it on blue collar style and throws it down! "Up and Down" Sweany somehow channeled Howling Wolf through the mic! What a voice! And outstanding drummer Phil! Thanks Patrick see you in Seattle!
Danced all night when I wasn't helping with merch. Love helping out. Love the continental club and employees are awesome..
great as always. packed house. Rosie Flores sang a few, celine sang a few, and a couple more jumped on stage. I got to dance all night long. once again.
