Scarlet house was amazing!! The venue was so intimate you were right there no stupid assigned seating. The opening bands were great, really pumped things up and had a good energy. Scarlet house was just wow, I haven't enjoyed a concert as much as this one in years. If Scarlet house is in your area, don't think just go!
One of the most intimate concerts I've attended. The venue was spacious and people were friendly. I've followed BLÜ EYES for almost four years and stumbled upon Ryan Nealon earlier this year. I love both their individual sound and writing style a lot, and they connected with the crowd so well!
Sound balance could have favored her voice a little more, but terrific performance. I would have liked a few more solo songs with just her and her guitar. I have always loved her song writing and singing. However, her band is terrific. Her drummer is especially fantastic.
They're one of the best bands I've heard in a long time. I loved there show. Cafe Du Nord is a small intimate room where you can get right in front of the place. I expect this band to really take off, so you probably won't get too many more chances to see them in such an intimate show.
Meg Myers is incredibly talented & oh so beautiful She has such a powerful voice (except when she's quietly chitchatting between songs-im half deaf so that sucked) Acoustic is perfect for her massive vocals & raw emotion. SO GLAD i made it out to the show. Thank you Meg! Please come back soon! & thank you Cafe Du Nord for hosting her! I love intimate environment shows 😁
As always, Justin was amazing. I had the pleasure of experiencing the intimate private show before the still intimate main show which was a dream come true. I’ve been a fan since I was 12 (now 28), have seen him now 4 times and he never disappoints!
Unfortunately it seemed Justin Nosuka used the evening as a means of totally promoting his new album. It wasn’t until the encore that he performed material the audience was familiar with. At that point I’d never seen greater audience participation as it seemed like every audience member sang along with him, knowing every single lyric.
Justin is one of the most wonderful artists with who has some of the most wonderful material. That’s what his fans want to see. Even with just one backup musician he could have done an entire evening of familiar material which the audience knows word for word.
The venue, Cafe du Nord, was wonderful. They even provided a pitcher of ice cold water with cups from we could quench our thirst. The two women working the front door were a joy.
Annie and the show were AMAZING, 10/10 for Annie her opener and the crew!
I was admittedly not a fan of the venue, very understaffed and inattentive to what was happening in the crowd; the bar staff was rude to us when we needed assistance from security when a much older man was physically harassing my friend and security was not present at all during the show.
5 star performers, 2 star crowd. Everyone there was only there for Sex, Drugs Etc. the energy for every other song was inexistent. I love this band so much and they had amazing stage presence but just wish some other real fans were there to actually enjoy the music and not just record the whole thing for tiktok.
I have been a big fan of Nick Waterhouse since his first album, back in 2011 or 2012. Saw him for the first time in 2019 at the Great American Music Hall. Enjoyed this show at Cafe du Nord, but I wish he would have had one or two backup singers, and maybe a sax player. I didn’t care for his opening act, because all the songs sounded exactly the same.
The acoustics at Cafe du Nord seemed a bit off. A little too much bass, and some extra feedback. Not much seating, and some of it was obstructed by a post.
It was great to hear some of Nick’s newer songs, along with some older gems. Will see him live whenever I can. Love his songs, and his voice.
These guys are amazing live. Only sad thing is they didn't play Different Lives, which was a song I had on repeat for...4 weeks straight.
Amazing band and shoutouts to Hariz and Anthony Russo for putting on amazing live performances too.
Sway Wild was terrific. I love the way to two of them have fun together. Terrific musicianship. I'm a drummer and I can learn new techniques just by watching him. She is in wonderfully solid command of her guitar, and the two of them can certainly keep a solid beat. Songs have wildly varying tempos and melodies, which make them exciting and interesting at the same time. Highly recommended.
S.G. = Seriously Great or Stupendously Guitarific! Music and engagement with the crowd was awesome. I doubt I’ll ever get the see her in such an intimate venue again. Put on your shades for the future path of this performer!
Rozzi is always a solid five stars. Incredible vocals, great backing singers and good rapport with the crowd. Shane the support act was impossible to see, as she was seated at a keyboard for her entire set and you could only see her if you were in the front couple of rows).
One of the best live acts I’ve seen recently - excellent show. New material was great, but still the great hooks from old favs like Favor Liar and Freaking Out. Amazing energy despite performing in an airlesss underground sauna. Can’t wait til they tour again
Super dope show! My beautiful wife and I flew in from Palm Springs and had a motha fuckin blast! The cafe was on point and a uniquely intimate setting. Set list extra solid. Bear was a straight beast, super smooth and sounded stellar!
Cafe du Nord was cool. They gave out shirts for the people in line right before the show as well as right before the show they threw out shirts to people who didn’t get one yet. That was chill. Bear was 13/10 as always. The lighting at the show got everyone messed up. The strobe was too much ):
Angelo was great and it was a good introduction to Ada Lea. I'd rate the show higher, but the sound quality was pretty bad. Angelo had massive amounts of unpleasant feedback, which clearly made it difficult to position himself. He complained and made several requests but it never improved.
Donovan Woods is the most funny and entertaining artist I’ve ever seen. He really connects with the audience and explains the meaning behind his songs. He has such a great natural voice and plays amazing guitar. I’m so glad I got to finally see him. He played so well with The Opposition. I got to get a vinyl artwork signed by him and his band members, they were really nice to talk to. And his opener Elise Davis was incredible. Great concert, great venue, great time. If you want to see one of the greatest folk Americans music artists of our time, go see Donovan Woods and The Opposition!
Awesome show at a small intimate venue. They played mostly from the new album Bright to Death, it was great to hear that album live. The sound quality was great for the space. I hope they come through SF again!
