4/13: New Skeletal Faces, Imperial triumphant, Mortiis, Mayhem Overall experience: B+ Best Set: Imperial triumphant Least Fav Set: Mortis Most Disappointing: N/A Highlight moment: IT bassist "bass solo" Best Factor: Loud and clear sound from all bands First off, great LOUD and clear sound from all of the bands! Strangely different from the night before at the same exact venue. Right off the bat, New Skeletal Faces blasted my ears, but in the best way possible, which impressed me right away. Overall, enjoyable set from them. Then, Imperial triumphant blew me away with an impeccable drum sound and guitar/bass ambience through usage of various pedals alongside with some entertaining stage antics and visuals in a "performing arts" like manner. Easily my favorite set. Mortiis wasn't my thing for a live show. And especially after a set like imperial triumphant, it was incredibly difficult to match that kind of energy and wow factor. And then there was Mayhem, the main act. Well, its Mayhem, -ish, necrobutcher and Attila being only longer standing members. It was a great set, but if you're not a fan of monotonous blasting, I could see it becoming old for the listener especially after a somewhat long show. But, if you like this type of metal, such as myself, it was excellent. Mayhem presented their set in a historical manner, that I thought was cool, starting from their newest songs to their earliest songs in their career. Set did not disappoint!

4/12: Unearth, Lacuna Coil, In Flames, MH Overall experience: C- Best Set: Machine Head Least Fav Set: Lacuna Coil Most Disappointing: In Flames Highlight moment: "Halo" Encore Best Factor: Rob Flynn Overall, great efforts by the bands that was tainted by bad sound in the venue. During one of my favorite songs from unearth ("My Will Be Done"), Buzz's sweet sweeping arpeggios were completely inaudible! Also, In Flames's set was ruined by a loud and awful bass tone that had little to no distinguishable notes. Even, Machine Head's sound was a rough start but luckily fixed itself half way through the set. The lead guitar player, not Flynn, was too quiet in alot of parts. However, sound during songs like "Locust" and "Halo" proved to be badass parts of the set when the guitars were finally loud enough. On a positive note, all the bands brought great energy and stage presence as well as performance. The epic "Halo" encore was a great way to finish out the show on a positive note.

Chase Atlantic was really great! I was so excited seeing that they were going on tour, let alone having a show in my hometown and that I was able to get a ticket. They did really great, the openers were good too, and when it was finally time for Chase Atlantic to come out, I was so excited. The venue is small, the past three shows I've seen we're also at this venue unfortunately; so never a fan of this place because of how small it is and how crowded it gets with people touching and leaning against you the whole time. Not as hot as last time with people passing out from the heat, so I guess that's good. Will for sure look forward to Chase Atlantic touring again and hope to be able to get a ticket again
