They were a truck load of fun! Musically, spot on excellent. Great vocals, great musicianship all around, each member played their part expertly. Lead guitarist even did one-handed pull-off arpeggios. But, it was their stage antics that really made the show. Lead guitarist was as much of a spastic maniac as Angus himself, running around on stage in a plaid mini-skirt/Catholic schoolgirl uniform, jumping around, duck walking, dropping to the floor and spinning around (while playing!). At one point, she walked through the audience (which was difficult, because it was a packed, sold-out crowd), went and laid down on the bar (still playing her guitar), and the lead singer came over, grabbed a bottle of whiskey and poured it down her throat.
Lead singer had a great voice and a beefy, Brian Johnson kind of look, wore a newsboy cap and denim battle jacket, and "High Voltage" tattooed in an arch over her belly button.
They sprayed water on the crowd from their water bottles. Lead guitarist spewed water on us from her mouth. They both grabbed their crotches at various times, and flirted unabashedly with the women in the audience. This must have been what prompted one woman in the crowd to remove her brasserie and throw it up on stage. This was soon followed by a second bra, and then a third until a total of four bras were tossed up on stage, which the band then hung from their mic stands. Lead singer commented, "When I think of Santa Cruz, I usually think of vampires. Now I'm going to think of vampires and boobies".
But, probably the grandest moment of the night came during "Sin City" I think it was when the lead guitarist did a strip tease like Angus does. And she full-on mooned the audience...with "AC" writ large on her left butt cheek, "DC" on her right butt cheek and a black lightning bolt down her crack. It was glorious.
What an incredible way to spend NYE! Excellent music with awesome vibes all around. We will be back to see other live performers at this fun and intimate venue!
They are the best hands down Led Zeppelin cover band!! What a great show!! If you get an opportunity to see them your in for a real rocking performance!! Love these Gals
We recently became their mostest biggest fans ever, and this show sealed it! Not only wonderful songs, but only are they all monster musicians (their extended jams are jaw-dropping), but they all sing, and sing really really well. If you cant dig the five-part harmonies, you are dead inside! See ya next time, gents!!
He started with his classical side! Rippin on a custom guitar with recorded background music and stories between songs was a treat! After a lil break, he came out with the full band and tore into his bands hits and even mixed in some scorpion tunes to bring the house down! Great energy tonite!
This is a great local to Santa Cruz area band. Lively music. Like their harmonies. Everyone there seemed to be having a good time. I’ll be back for sure! 🤘🎶
What a great night! First time at Moe's Alley! Fun Venue. Mike Viola played a great acoustic set and really rocked it out when he came back out the Coffis Brothers to end the show. The comedian at intermission was interesting. Not sure his sets went over to well. The Coffis Brothers are phenomenal. Great original tunes. Looking forward to the next show already!
This is our 2nd time ( my 3rd) to see Albert Cummings in action! He’s an amazing artist, shredding guitarist, talented songwriter & fantastic vocalist!! Not only that, he is one of the ABSOLUTE friendliest, down-to-earth musicians we have ever seen! ( And we’ve seen A lot!;)) Can’t wait until he comes back to California again!! Thanks for another fabulous & fun filled performance, Albert!! Peace & love, Jenise & Larry 0:) & B-)
Jackie, Jeremy, Nate, Uncle Bruce and friend bass player were ON FIRE!! The show was awesome ---they played over 16 songs for 2+ hours. A great show.
KUDOS to Moe's for all the upgrades they have completed at the venue. I have been going there for years and the place is so nice....even clean restrooms :-) :-)
Thank you!!!
The BOH were amazing as usual, the new drummer and bass player were great as well. We had seats right next to the stage and could hear them great and see them in action. The opening act, Taylor Ray is a great singer and we would go to see her and her band again. It was cool that she came up and did a couple songs with the BOH. It was a great night of music.
The band was fantastic!!! Loved it! It was better than I imagined it would be. Love their style. They went from one song right on to the next. Played for at least 2 hours. Would definitely see them again and again! Venue was ok. Liked the size, but would have been nice to have a few small tables and chairs like Caberet toe seating! All employees very friendly.
"The Soul" of Soul Music gives you an experience similar to the dreamy gaze a child has on their first Fourth of July; an amazing glory of light in a dark night.
Moe's Alley is the perfect venue to showcase two groups of artist that easily would fill any room with the love of their craft. Either empty or packed, Moe's offers the audience a memorable experience in an intimate setting with plenty of outdoor space to relax in.
Chris Lujan and Andre Cruz opened the show with a wonderful mixture of old slow soul and a few energetic jams, along with a delightful cover of "Can I Call You Rose", a sound originally performed by Thee Sacred Souls. Cruz and Lujan pulled the audience into a warm feeling of comfort, awe and excitement with perfect blends of their influence and originality.
The Expressions warmed up the crowd giving both patience and anticipation to the man himself, Mr. Lee Fields to walk out. Lee Fields quickly pulled the crowd in making us all feel like there was nowhere else we were supposed to be. With plenty of engagement, mixtures of upbeat and slow meaningful melodies, the group showcased why they truly are a shining source of soul in our world today. Throughout the performance, Fields constantly asked the crowd "are you happy?!?" to which I must reply, "indeed I am. Happy and satisfied" with a band that continues to grow and inspire with age.
I love a venue where you are so close to the band that you can interact with them! Moe's is amazing. Of course The White Buffalo was incredible. The energy that those 3 guys have is contagious and the sound is always spot on. Their opener was also fantastic. 10/10 would highly recommend.
Fantastic!! As always, got to chat with Mark a bit and some of the other artists, took my brother to a first time at Moe's and a Blowout.
10 STARS!! Sambadá always brings the heat and their opening band "Los Nahuatlatos" were absolutely fantastic!! Great show from beginning to end! Love it, love it, love it!
The band sounded amazing.
It was my first time at Moe's Alley.
I liked the fact the French doors
led to a open area. I had a great time.
Had a front row spot and loved it. Rick Miller and SCOTS are so unique and the sold out house was all in. Moe’s Alley has been spruced up and continues to be a great venue.
Amazing! Josiah, Caitlin and the Feelings parade were a wonderful performance full of all the emotions. I love the space they create with their vulnerability and honesty :) 💕💕💕💃🏼
Tommy Castro & The Painkillers were fantastic!!
Great job of blending newer song and older songs. Tommy is very interactive with the audience and everyone responded!
If you have a chance, go see TC & TPC, do it. It’s a great night!!
I dare you to hear this band and not have the overwhelming desire to get up and dance!! As always, Live Again was wonderful!!
