Hole In the Wall

I met them 15 years ago at sxsw and went to their show at The Spider House later that week and couldn’t believe how much fun the show was. I’ve been going to their shows ever since. This show at the hole in the wall was fun just like all their shows.

Folk Uke ended up cancelling from the line up but the rest of the line up, venue and audience were very fine. Old school.

Incredible artist and the whole band was phenomenal. Bob is truly a treasure and one of the most gifted musicians, period. Hole in the Wall has expanded since my last visit but still an iconic Austin venue and a great place to watch a show. Fun night!

Absolutely bad ass rock and roll night. Matthew Logan Vasquez and his band kicked ass. The Inkcaps from Waco, Texas…blew me out of the water as well! Thanks!

The show was absolutely fantastic!!!! Caught MLV at his C-Boys residency in Austin TX for the first time and became a super huge fan, then caught him again back at Hotel Vegas in August 2023 same year for both shows. Third time seeing him and will always make his shows here in Austin. MLV’s music hits deep down in my soul and am sooooo thankful for him and his music!

Matthew and band were great! The sound wasn’t the best. There was just too much in subs. Too much boomy bass. A slight tweak would have made all the difference. (Yes, I was a sound technician and know what I’m talking about.) But I loved Matthew and will definitely go see him again!

Wife and I went to the Hole in the Wall to celebrate our relationship beginning there 20 years ago. We stayed to see all 3 bands playing, including Kate Angel, who put on a great show. Her vocals are amazing and reminded us of some of our favorite female fronted bands like Paramore, who they actually covered, to our delight. She has great energy and star power, and we look forward to watching her career take off! (We were the long haired couple rocking out beneath the sound guy’s area.)

Matt Heckler is oozing talent. Captivating blend of folksy Irish-like songs with an Appalachian soul and a dash of classical solo violin. Well worth the effort. Will see again.
