The artist and band are absolutely mesmerizing. The sound at the Music Hall of Williamsburg was full and robust, but not overpowering, so no earplugs needed - at least standing behind the sound booth. Eivor is charming, sophisticated, elegant, playful and unbelievably talented. The Maria Callas of our time, effortlessly floating multiple octaves and back. The Nordic influences in her music drew members of the wiccan community as well as locals from as far away as the Jersey Shore and beyond. A special treat was pulling up the Faroese lyrics on Genius or Spotify to really be immersed in these soul-catching songs. It was a generous playlist with a variety of styles, sweet narration and chats with the audience, and a humility that was endearing. It was the show of her life - and of ours! Technically flawless, I'll remember this show for decades. If you don't know the artist, her music spans a wide range of genres, not fitting into any neatly. There are folk, "Viking", synthwave, soundtrack, operatic and more - generally downtempo and dramatic/epic soundscapes. Very immersive, spiritual and unique. From Enya to Kylie Minogue (with some St. Vincent thrown in?) it's hard to find parallels to this vast talent and warm musicianship.
