We were there to see Emmy Lou Harris and had never heard of Larkin Poe. we had decided to accept that we had to sit thru an unknown first act as any other concert we've attended.
Instead the ladies were all 3 there together the entire show and Larkin Poe very well held their own with Miss emmy Lou!!! Great show.
Emmylou in an intimate venue such as the City Winery is special. And to see Larkin Poe performing with her is extra special. (I hope that Larkin Poe’s experience with Emmy will spark them to do an acoustic album—their lovely harmonies are too often masked by their high-energy performances!). Brava to both!!
First time to see Tab Benoit. GREAT show.
He played about five different styles of music, but you can put them all under Swamp Blues/Rock.
I've been watching bands since '60's and he moves into Top 10 of the best guitarists I've seen. Kind of a shredder like Bonamassa but with a different style; kind of a BB King with his control of the strings; and kind of a Stevie Ray in terms of speed and I don't know how to describe it.
He's a fun, low-key entertainer but when he talks it's pretty hilarious. Asking how many had never seen him, he looked and said, "Well, that's why I'm here." Kind of a Steven Wright humor!
Great opening act by Amy (?) with fiddle. Even if you don't like Cajun music, you'll like her, trust me.
Overall, most music appreciation fans will love Tab's concert!!
It was maybe the best show that I have been to.Taj is a prodigy, very gifted young man ,and his family members are very friendly.. The food and the show was well worth the money.Taj and his whole crew imcluding his guest, gives 150% to the audience. I give the show and the venue 5 stars.
Terrific show by Forever Abbey Road. They have four great musicians and even added two special guests. In addition to playing and singing so well, the band clearly loves Beatles music and enjoys performing it. They were having fun which made it even more fun for the audience. Really excellent show.
Sean is incredible! This was my 20th show for him and he has NEVER disappointed. It’s not everyday you find an artist who sounds better Live than on their record. Also, City Winery is a great venue for music. They have great food, drinks, and service, I highly recommend.
Absolutely excellent show! The Poor Bastard trio absolutely rocked the hell out of the Winery! Their music being fun and catchy is one thing, but being able to play it with as much clarity, tightness, and passion live is another world all together! Looking forward to the day they’re able to travel with some horns, but I’m super happy with the killer trio we have now!
One of the finest shows this venue has ever hosted! I was proud to be there! Saw my good friend Kevin McKendree playing keyboards. Kevin and his son Yates played keyboards and drums with me performing at The Franklin Theatre several years ago. Both are amazing musicians!
Joey put on an absolutely amazing show!!! Truly entertaining from beginning to end! And I was even fortunate enough to meet him after the show. Although he had gotten in his van to leave, he had seen a small few if us standing outside talking (about 10) to wave by to him...send him off....he got back out and walked over to us. He apologized for not being able to stay longer because he was already late leaving, but if we would have our phones ready, he would take a selfie with each of us. He was so sweet, gave each one of us his undivided attention, took the photo, thanked us for coming... and he didn't have to do that...but he did. And it is the small things like that that will keep me loving this man for at least 35 more years!!!
The show was awesome, as per usual. David was in perfect voice delivering an incredible setlist, and engaging with the audience between songs. My husband and I were so happy that we were able to travel to this, it was exactly what we needed. Thank you David Cook for a wonderful night!
The Show & Prove Tour did just did. Kevin is such a powerhouse performer: well dressed, incredibly interactive and engaged and a talented vocalist. In other words —- the mic was on! He’s proving himself to be a force to reckoned with and is up there as a legend at such a young age. There’s a reason this performance was souled out 💙
First, the venue was excellent! The intimate atmosphere was really nice. Kevin Ross show/performance was one of the best concerts I’ve been too! I loved his energy and his interactions with the audience. I would go to see him every time he’s in a city near me!
What a delightful and fun evening! These two have angelic pipes! Wholesome divergence from the fare that many musicians pump out these days. From Joni Mitchell (Both Sides Now) to Broadway to Disney, they brought refreshing energy and love to the stage. Their pianist, Mr Nelson is an arranging marvel whose vocals added greatly to "Hallelujah."
Can't wait to see this family again! - Randy & Lynne
Wow! Excellent show! Not a lot people showed up there at the elegant City Winery, but sometimes I like that. Amazing food but expensive. Lilly Winwood opened up for Jackie Greene and his two other guitar players. He soulfully played his guitar and harmonica and sang, but mid-concert it got really special when Jackie sat down at the piano and sang. Also, Lilly sat in at one point, and she did a wonderful job. My favorite part of this show was when Jackie covered the Grateful Dead's "Ship of Fools." I wore my Sugaree shirt hoping he would play that, because he's known to do a beautiful one. He did not, but I am not complaining! I would recommend anyone who likes good music to see Jackie Greene (and Lilly Winwood, too, for that matter). I would recommend the City Winery to anyone, especially if you can splurge a little every now and then for a very nice meal and a fine selection of adult beverages. Even if you don't buy anything other than the show tickets, it's still a peaceful, intimate, candlelit venue with friendly people, making it especially perfect for dates! 5 out of 5 stars! - Reed Rosson
Billy was as amazing in concert like always I have prob seen billy 30 times in concert and he gets better everytime. He made this night even more special for my niece who was celebrating her 6 birthday at his show he took her up on stage. And stage her happy birthday
Seeing O-Town in concert was Amazing. They were full of energy both on stage and off stage. You could tell they were having fun and were happy to be there to give an incredible performance for their fans. Even though we weren’t able to hug them or anything during the meet and greet due to the pandemic they still made conversation with you and made you feel special. O-Town does not disappoint. If you haven’t seen them in concert I highly recommend you get your tickets!!! Thank You O-Town for an Incredible experience I will remember this night forever.
OMG!! Gaby Moreno is freaking amazing! I was in town to see Brandi Carlile at the Ryman. The next day, I decided to catch Gaby at City Winery. I had never heard of her, but her bio and the 8-9 songs I previewed, sounded interesting. My brother in law is a long time musician and sound engineer, my sister is a guitarist and long time rock guitar fan, my wife and I are fans of various varieties of music ranging from classical to Americana, to reggae, to punk. Gaby did not disappoint. He stage presence is welcoming (I was a friend from the moment she started her show). She was a humble artist and showperson who gave every credit to her band (which was also quite good). I didn't understand the Spanish songs but it didn't matter. I could hear the passion in her voice, and see the love in her face. Gaby was having a blast, and we were all just lucky to be there. Her recordings are a little mechanical and over produced, they don't portray the true artistry that pours out on stage. I am a new fan, and a fan for life. Best of luck Gaby, I hope to see you again soon!!
Nick is so genuine and passionate about his music. This tour was unique in the way that the band played songs they do not play live as well as by incorporating a violin. I'm never disappointed by The Spill Canvas live and look forward to my next opportunity to see them.
Show was great but wasn’t thrilled with the venue, City Winery. The chairs were very uncomfortable and the table set up crowded and in opposite direction of stage. The servers were continuously running around serving tables and blocking view of stage. Also overpriced food and drinks.
Thought this show was Denny Laine and the Moody Wing Band, but turned out to be Denny all by himself, acoustic. We were not disappointed! His stories and interaction were great! He even played “Again and Again and Again” off Wings “Back to the Egg” when I requested it. Loved the show. Only negative was Denny wasn’t signing autographs. City Winery in Nashville is a beautiful venue.
