Unfortunately, the show didn't happen because of Hurricane Helene. The Grey Eagle is in the River Arts District in Asheville. Most businesses in that area were destroyed in historic flooding.
We hope the club will be rebuilt! We hope JD will play somewhere else in the Southeast so we can see him. Our tickets are a love offering to The Grey Eagle and to JD and his band.
The review stars are to support both the club and the artist. We have seen JD many times and he always puts on a great show.
I just can’t emphasize enough how talented these guys are! Jackie and Nate played together for a solid hour and a half. It was a smallish audience and so they played mostly requests. The audience and the guys were enjoying the music! The Grey Eagle is such a great intimate venue!
These guys are so personable too. Nate was breaking down their equipment afterward but stopped to chat and give a photo. And Jackie was chilling outside and chatted with guests as well.
I had such a blast! You gotta check them out!
Literally the best concert I’ve ever been to! I’ve seen Ruston 7 times now and each time is even better. Had the opportunity to meet him this time and he’s the most genuine and gracious dude. Highly encourage everyone to follow his music and if you have the opportunity to see him live, DO IT!!
First time at the Grey Eagle. Really appreciated the heads up regarding parking. Complimentary ice water is a nice touch. Impressed with the tofu tacos. Barmaids were friendly and efficient. Security kept things legit. Access to patio is a huge plus. Two monitors above the bar and one on the patio. Plenty of room to relax. I’d go back. Live Dead and Brothers performance was excellent. A little muddy at first but they got it worked out after Truckin’. IMHO, the band cranked out some awesome music and the overall vibe was chill.
The absolute best show ever. I would recommend everyone to make sure they see this group. I noticed that each person left with a smile and contentment as they left the show. Thank you Grey Eagle. And mainly thank you to The Trouble Notes for coming to ASHEVILLE. HOPE TO SEE THEM AGAIN AND AGAIN.🎶
Absolutely loved it!! As a big fan of the band gong with a medium fan and a person who had barely heard of them, The Arcadian Wild put on an excellent show for all people and ages. They are real, honest, pure, and positive in everything they do. The location was fun and vibrant and small which made it even more special!
I absolutely love Morgan's music. It is honest and real. Moves the emotions like no artist I have heard in years. Naturally the real test for songs is how they come across during a live performance. Morgan did not disappoint. The show was excellent. You are cheating yourself if you don't see her live. Morgan keep kicking ass in your way. Thanks for a very memorable night.
Epic show!!! I absolutely love these guys - 2 super talented artists that always put on a fun, energetic show! The Grey Eagle is a small intimate venue in West Asheville - the way I prefer to see any artist that I listen to - always so much more personable at a smaller venue! If you haven’t seen Little Stranger yet - you gotta check these guys out!! 🤩🎶🎹🎤💜🥕
Super cool venue and I’ll have to come back in town to catch a show there again sometime!
But not until after I go to the rest of Dexter and the Moonrocks’ shows over the next few weekends!!! Amazing band and if you haven’t seen them yet, what are you doing with your life.
I loved the concert last night. The venue was a little small but it wonderfully intimate. I liked the intimate setting. I also liked that you could watch the concert in the dining area on the televisions. We tried the shrimp tacos and oh my G!!! The tacos were amazing. Tank and the Bangas put on a fantastic show and did not disappoint. I would definitely return to the Grey Eagle for another event.
Jackie had an outstanding 90 minute performance at the Grey Eagle. She is a guitar virtuoso and delicately balances her awesome technical performance and beautiful song writing skills with a joy and passion that is so fun to experience. The Grey Eagle is a very cool intimate, laid back atmosphere to enjoy musicians. Can’t wait to see Jackie again in Appleton, WI this summer. Thank you Jackie for an awesome evening!! Sue & Kay from Wisconsin.
I always love seeing Sam Lewis perform solo and the trio show was fantastic too. Harley, Kimbro, and Lewis are simply magical and magnificent together. See a show and buy their new album, you will be happy you did! This was my first visit to the Grey Eagle and I’ll be back. Their pre-concert food is delicious too.
Amazing show! EtH! rocked my face off and I loved it all. They played a 2 set show (with a robust encore!) full of songs from their new album, Archer's Parade, along with a great mix of their hits from previous albums and crowd pleasers.
You can tell the band still loves playing together and are energetic for their new album, and I was pleasantly surprised by the set starting with their new single, Swallowed by a Whale. Absolutely loved it!
These guys and gals are the best, especially when they play my favorite song of theirs, Litter and the Leaves!
Was extremely fun. Audience was a bit offputting by talking over the opening musician but that’s okay. Gravedancer was fantastic, very lively and funny and while I had never heard them before their voice was gorgeous. Shawn was, of course, so amazing. His changes to usual songs were so nice and he sounded even better live than recorded. Despite “getting over something” still his voice was very rounded and smooth as always and just so gorgeous. The band with him was also amazing, especially the violinist. He was also extremely friendly and funny himself. Concert was very lively and upbeat overall. Would love to see him again in the future!
First of all, WOW! A most excellent band at my favorite venue. Stellar performance of old classics and new favorites off their self titled album, released this past Friday 7/15. They brought so much energy and light to the room. You can see it on their faces that they’re living their dream onstage. After the show they took time to interact with folks at the merch table. They were such a pleasure to talk to, and they kindly signed my set list. Definitely planning to see them again as soon as possible!
Great to see and hear a band continue to hone their sound and demonstrate a mastery of their songs and songwriting. It had been a long while since they had been in the south and hopefully they return again shortly. Very tight sound, they keep a nice back beat to go with outstanding guitar, vocals and keyboards. Big upside for these guys.
Fantastic show! I have been waiting several years to see Danielle. Her band, with Brandon Miller on lead/rhythm and Go-Go Ray driving percussion has created a platform for Danielle to express her soul. She shatters the air around her with so much expression, so much deep seated blues that one can't help but feel her. Big voice. Brandon could teach a class in phrasing to experienced stage guitarists! Go-Go drives the train; stand back...don't step on the tracks! He's a force, as they all are. The Danielle Nicole Band is a must see, hands down!!!
What an absolute pleasure it was to be at this event. Met Tony way back in 1989 when i was playing in NY, and he was as courteous then, as he is now. (Even though my picture with him in 89 shows him strangling me) LOL.
Kidding aside, his entire entourage was Top Shelf! What a great group of people supporting Tony, and management, (special kudos to Josiah). In most cases, i feel the band is only complimented or as good as the the staff that supports them, A+A+A+ to the whole crew!
Talent wise, are you kidding me? This entire band is virtuoso lvl skill. I was stunned at how tight the drumming was, just incredible. The Accompanying guitarist was right on the heels of tony, and as clean as a player. And the Bassist, (whom the wife was all starry eyed over, lol,) was exceptionally clean/tight and fit right in the pocket with the drumming. Best show i have been to in ages. I spent the whole Pre show backstage with the guys and they are ALL as courteous and inviting as tony is. They made us feel right at home.
Was great catching up with Tony after the show, and for those standing by wanting to meet him, he’s always approachable and treats everyone as another human, like family even, and not as just another number. Same goes for his band and staff, all very inviting. What management actually has time to share? They usually busy. This is were tony’s shines! Spent the entire night catching up with Josiah. Thanks for the memories JO! Just a superb staff. Ok, I’m done gloating.
All said and done, i felt like the show bought me right back to my excited youth, and for a brief moment in time, it was the 1980’s again.......
So SICK! Had an awesome time at the show, despite a few not so cool people in the crowd~~ Didnt let that get in the way of me enjoying AJJ’s awesome performance. They sounded great, were high energy, most of the crowd was super into it too. Had so much fun singing along :) can’t wait for AJJ to come back!!!
Memorable show! The Grey Eagle is a great venue. Tony and the band are like fine craftsman with their instruments. Tony’s voice resonated in a natural, relaxed way and you can tell the band enjoys performing and that they feed off each other’s enthusiasm as well as the audiences. Such a solid performance and they played a nice selection from their collection of albums. Thank you for coming back to NC!!
