Led Zeppelin reincarnated. Fantastically talented. These ladies really killed it. I've been to 6 different shows this year and "and I'm being honest here *, I was blown away! Took me back to when I was younger, headphones on. Eyes closed. Listening to one of my favorite bands of all time. I was captured. I can't wait until you all come back again. Thank you for such talent and an incredible performance.
Great show. This is the 6th time I have seen Hayes and this was another great show. This tour he is performing with a great band, the Band of Heathens, and Hayes is really part of the band, not fronting it. Lots of tunes from their upcoming album and many, many classic Hayes Carll tunes. The sound system was really good and that let Hayes' voice come through clear and clean. They played for almost 2.5 hours with no intermission. Wonderful show, great audience, and good venue.
The venue was great! Acoustics were fairly good, staff was professional and friendly, there was parking close by, the coolest temp . I’ve experienced, and a fairly large wide viewing area on the floor. There was some chairs along the side for ADA, super clean beautiful bathrooms and plenty of exits Incase of an emergency. Most importantly, JVM was AMAZING! Musically on point with a humble charming personality. I knew his voice was beautiful from years of listening to his recordings but his voice is so powerful. I have seen a lot of live performances and I have never experienced anything like his voice, ever! Just amazing. That’s all I can say.
Bodysnatcher is always a great show, I liked the sound better at el corazon but it could have also been where I was in relevance to the speakers. Great line up and it was my first time at the crocodile which was better than I thought it was going to be- The stage diving was lit, dudes, chicks, kids, I even saw an old guy dive a few times.
Fruit Bats are always amazing. Never left one of their shows without a smile on my face. Opening band wasn’t quite a good fit, and was twice as loud as Fruit Bats. But that’s my only complaint. Fruit Bats sounded incredible and have such a deep catalog of great and danceable songs ranging from psychedelic to country to disco to classic rock, and everything in between. If you haven’t seen them live, you are missing out!
Unbelievable sound and absolutely immaculate vibes. This show was a spiritual experience and right up there in my top five live shows of all time - with Radiohead, Jack White and LCD Soundsystem. Hard to put a finger on Fruit Bats sound but I would say it’s a blend of all things beautiful: indie rock nostalgia and wistfulness with a healthy dose of upbeat grooves. Go see them!
New music from his new band was expected. What wasn't expected was a blistering two guitar attack, a drummer that wouldn't quit, a bass player who kept a somewhat funky beat and a lead singer with a voice of a angel Dave's leads where out of this world. But the encore Dylan's Highway 61 was right up there with All along the Watchtower as the best Dylan cover ever.
Unreal experience! Alluvial, Car Bomb and Animals as Leaders, blew the hair off my head with their sonic barrage of complex time signatures. The show was like going to a body building competition, except theyr all musicians well honed in they're craft. The venue was small, so it made for a more intimate experience. The additional upside, was getting to hang out with the guys in the bands. Tosin Abasi, and Eliot Hoffman are extrely humble dudes. We stood around outside the venue in seattle, bullshitting, and talking about music for 3 hours. Mind blowing experience, to come down from alaska to encounter.
One of the best shows I’ve ever seen. Truly remarkable. It’s too bad that this European supergroup doesn’t have a loyal enough following to perform In larger venues in the US. One of the best bands I’ve listened too and their live sound is just as good as their studio recordings. To anyone that reads this, do yourself a favor and go check these guys out. If you’re a fan of excellent progressive metal/rock. You won’t regret it.
When a truly “musical” act that can easily be a person’s favorite only shows up in your town every 5 to
10 years ,from lands far far away U have to make the meeting! Great show Gentleman! We thank you for your Efforts that have Great results! Peace in The Dark!
Ok, now for you folks that do make it? ..Don’t
Miss them …Next Time, ..if there is one?
This is the second time I've seen these guys in Seattle. It just wasn't quite as good as the first time. I think they were having difficulty with the guitar amps because it was difficult to hear any of the guitar. The bass was spectacular!!! That guy can PLAY! I was a bit disappointed that he didn't play the mandolin like he did previously. He is a seriously talented musician. And the drummer!!! Did they replace the drummer? The guy they had last night was AWESOME! The new "Jimmy Page" was probably good except for the sound issues. It's only a 4 star because I missed "John Paul Jones" playing the mandolin. But his bass playing! Holy cow! He made the room jump!
Best band ever! Best concert ever! I’m obsessed with everyone involved. Haven’t been happy since the show ended, fell into a depression, won’t be happy again until the wrecks are back in town. This was my second time seeing the wrecks live and they just get better and better. I love the intimacy of the venue, got amazing view and pretty close. I beg of the wrecks, no matter how popular you get please do ga only venues with multiple nights for everyone. Arenas are great but I WILL gatekeep. Love love love. -sincerely the wrecks biggest fan @via.4d on insta.
I went to this concert on a whim after watching their viral Tik Tok video for Tom’s Diner. Man, did they not disappoint!! I left the concert wanting to go and learn the rest of the discography. So many great songs!
I go to a lot of shows. The energy level of Giant Rooks plus the stage setup (lights and acoustics) was PHENOMENAL. Best concert I’ve been to in a while!!
Can’t wait to see Giant Rooks again in Seattle!
Dynamic, powerful, and complete.. truly an unbelievable show. Translating the album to the performance was executed flawlessly. Everyone in the band pushed the sound further and further towards an experience I've never felt before. The sax and bass were so full and beautiful. The keys and drums were rocking it. And then the lead vocals and guitar.. unreal. Best show I've seen in years. Such a creative and dynamic group
This guy has so much love and so much soul you can’t help but feel it when he sings, and just when he is there. I was lucky enough to meet him before the show in the alley and he is the nicest, kindest, sweetest person I think I’ve ever met. His voice is a gift for sure. Do your self a favor and go see Teddy Swims.
5 stars as usual for Bob, but I wasn't really feeling the opening act. Carolina Story were good and had beautiful voices and harmonies, but every song was down-tempo, and none of them were that memorable. I was practically asleep by the end of their set. Carolina Story - Give me something that really makes me want to dance and clap along and you could be great.
What a treat. A two hour 18 song setlist starting with five songs off Consequences. They then played Diamonds In A Dead Sky in its entirety including "Where the Wild Winds Blow" which Jefferson said was the bands first live performace of it. Finished with 4 more Consequences songs. Dare I say their best show of the 6 I have seen. Well done gentleman...
I LOVE CupcakKe which is why I gave this a 5-star review. She put on a great show and it was definitely worth the money. HOWEVER, the opening act was TERRIBLE! The were narcissistic and had no talent to back it up. Additionally when CupcakKe finally got on, they stood around the back and poorly acted as hype men, to which CupcakKe eventually mouthed "shout the fuck up" to. PRICELESS! I would never want to see Thee Prophecy or Lil Woadie again, but CupcakKe? Definitely!
Being the only guy with a mic for between song banter, Clay was a great host! The fellas were on point performance-wise. They called people up on stage about midway through their set. Definitely awesome as you don't see too much of that these days! Kinda weird seeing a pit with this style of music [I usually catch bands such as Down, LoG, CoC, Mastodon, Primus, Gojira, Children of Bodom, etc], but as long as they're having fun and helping each other up [ya know, proper fucking pit etiquette] that "heavy only=mosh" convention doesn't really hold weight anymore. Covet was a fantastic opener! Though, I thought they deserved the 2nd slot over Hail The Sun, but that's mainly because HTS aren't a style I seek out. That being said, they gave a quality performance as well.
Overall: 9.5/10 Will definitely see them next time around! So fucking come back to Seattle!
