That show was fantastic! Loved his energy and rapport with the audience. It’s obvious this is what he was meant to do! Vincent is extremely talented on the sax, guitar and drums! Loved it!
Absolutely one of the best shows I've seen in a long time. The venue has been updated significantly since my last visit there. Super organized check in process. Great service, passable bar food. But now to the real star. Phillip Phillips and his two bandmates. They put on an amazing, intimate show.
I was a little skeptical about the venue and travelled quite a bit to get there. But the music and sound did not disappoint. The band was very tight. I liked the set list and the stories Larry Carlton told about his music and career. If you are a fan of his music and have not seen him I would make the effort before he finishes his career. He may be missing some off his fastball but it was still a solid show.
Wonderful show! Great venue! He played his new stuff which was great, but also some of his older pieces. And ended with my favorite ~ Love & Paragraphs. Had a great time and will go see him again if I get the chance.
Great show. The band was super tight. Marshall was powering through a cold, and there was an earlier equipment issue that was corrected by a last-minute trip to a nearby music store. I appreciate the effort and the crowd did so as well.
I can’t say enough nice things about seeing Mike Zito live! The sound at the Tin Pan is always top notch, it is a great venue for a music show. The food is very good as well, makes a for a good date night.
This is the second time I've seen him at the Tin Pan. It's a great venue in general, and Edwin seems like a born entertainer. I love the stories between songs; the setlist contains a variety of tunes from his best songs to perhaps a cover or a deeper track. The band has played together for some time, and it's evident in the performance. The mix to the audience was particularly good, with a well-balanced sound for all the instruments, including Edwin's vocals. It's not often that I leave a show feeling like I got the bargain in terms of cost-to-entertainment ratio, but Edwin's performances are the type of show where I do feel that way.
The Tin Pan has a standard menu they spice up for each show with new drinks and new menu items. The staff is always friendly, albeit on days like this, I feel it's a tough night for them. Not a lot of space to move around, having to serve in low light, and having a ton of customers who are there for the whole time. I suggest trying to finish your food before the show, if possible, so that you can enjoy the show.
nteresting show at the Tin Pan last night. Donna the Buffalo arrived late for the show...hence no sound check. Lots of technical issues ensued...monitors didn't work, microphone volumes were off etc. But being the trouper's that they are, they powered through an enjoyable set. No encore though which is uncharacteristic. I think Tara was a little pissed at the sound man not addressing the technical glitches in a timely manner
I’m always impressed with the quality of musicians ,sound and atmosphere of this place. I’ve been a fan of Chieli Minucci for years and I’m glad I could experience the band’s performance. GOOD JOB (again!)
Another fine show by Phil & the gang. Pattie was on fire last night. Jeff was his usual greatness. Never left a Vassar show disappointed. Mater of fact, what a great two hour escape from the real world. Thanks.
Terrific show! After 50+ years Terry Adams and his crew still deliver top notch entertainment. First time seeing this line up and was extremely impressed. Played both old favorites and recent releases to perfection.
The concert was very good. I have followed southside Johnny for a long time but I have never seen them live. the Tin Pan was a great place to see them play. all seats were good. I rate it very good.
I've been listening and purchasing music by Stanley Clarke before the School Days LP, so I was very excited to finally see a live performance with his current band. They entertained the crowd for almost two hours and I enjoyed their set knowing the depth of his musical catalog is immense! Some of my favorites didn't make it, hence -2 stars.
Can't play everything in 2 hrs - call me petty, I know...the other deduction was due to the dress of band. It looked like they just walked out of Walmart and picked up their instruments and jammed! They sounded great! Visually, eh, well it was a Tuesday night- everybody else just showed up for the music! Don't miss them if they're in your area. Whether you hear your particular jam or not- You won't be sorry you went!
I had not seen David in forever—likely 30 years or more—thus it was so great to see him again. But it was bittersweet as he announced that this was his last tour. He’s not as quick around the fretboard as he once was, but his band is terrific. He can still make you howl with laughter and cry with his touching tunes. He is just a master.
It was great to see David and his band on his farewell to the road tour. The venue is not the best acoustically, but the staff, food and vibes are great. David’s band is top notch. He says that he has lost a bit of speed at 77, but his performance was still powerful. I’m glad that I’ll get to see him again this coming week on the Cayamo music cruise out of Miami.
A fantastic show, as always! They are an incredibly talented musicians and songwriters, plus a very kind and personable couple. Also thoroughly enjoyed Rod Picott's set, first time seeing him, hope to see him again in the future. Thank you Doug, Telisha and Rod for a wonderful evening of original live music at The Tin Pan!
The music was great, but the stage faced the tables to the right of the bar, so the folks sitting to the left only saw the sides and back of the artists. It would have been much better had the stage been set up facing the bar, or center of the room.
I hope it wasn’t Shawn that got Covid. I know she would’ve been great -she has been every time I’ve seen her the last 35 years. Please bring the Steady On anniversary to Wolftrap! ❤️
JD and his band play so well together- very tight . Awesome guitar playing as usual- new bass player was great and the drummer is very talented as well. If this trio comes near you you’ve got to see them play live!
Great night. Good music , good venue , great friends. Nice that Roomful of Blues brought there high energy to the Tin Pan. Well worth the trip from Roanoke to experience there non stop live performance.
