The music was superb at the Iridium. What a memorable line up: Dave Weckl, Oz Noy, James Genus, Eric Finland and the beautiful voice and powerful stage presence of Chrissi Poland.
As an aside, for you Weckl fans, he and Chrissi will be part of the 2025 Drum Fantasy Camp in LA Aug 2 - Aug 6. Dave will be joined by three more iconic drummers: Peter Erskine, Dennis Chambers and Gavin Harrison. Go to drumfantasycamp.com for details and to register.
The singer seemed to be performing phonetically.
Many of the lyrics I was familiar with were garbled yet his musical inflections were quite tight.
Despite his vocal limitations, (he's not Gabriel), he did make the inflections Gabriel used in his performance art.
Not as good as Brit Floyd or Fab Faux, but also not the same fan base to $upport them, the band was quite good giving points for not having the sound engineering money would buy.
I am surprised that these venues don't invest more in the sound products they sell.
I can only assume they place this expense on the acts they think resolve it individually - as illogical, that is.
Only the venue can know how nuances their space impacts sound.
Tristan Mcintosh is ALWAYS SUPERB! She embodies Linda Ronstadt because of her beautiful tremendous voice. The venue is cozy and they have stepped up their food game which makes ordering food a delight. I will be going back every year The Linda Ronstadt Experience is at the Iridium
It was our first time seeing The Lao Tizer Band in concert but we are big fans of Elliott Yamin
so we knew if was going to be great! Each band member were amazing talented! Highly recommend going to see them. Can't wait until they come back to NYC so we can bring a bunch of friends.
Walter was fantastic, the band was fantastic.....what a show!
2 full hours of great music from one of the greatest blues writers, guitarist and singer of our time.
Walter is one to see if you love the blues and great guitar work. God bless you Walter, I hope you live a long wonderful life.
GREAT SHOW!!! Pat Travers still COOKS and has alot of fun on stage with his excellent band! REALLY enjoy the music! He loves to play, its infectious and it shows!!!
I have been a long time fan of Acoustic Alchemy and their recent show at the Iridium demonstrates that they are in top form. Thank you guys for an excellent show.
They are superb musicians who write and perform glorious music. The room was full of loyal fans who were with them for every minute of the show. Please book them again soon.
Davy is masterful. Loved the acoustic set and his new album. 💿 As always, he delivers gorgeous sound that displays his soul and puts you in tune with your own. Beautifully done. ✔️
To see Australian-born rocker Orianthi up close in an intimate setting like NY’s Iridium was amazing. She did a great variety of songs spanning her career and included a cover version of Michael Jackson’s “Black or White” and even did a country song by Keith Urban. “According to You” as an encore was a highlight. The esteemed Miss O showed off her virtuoso guitar skills throughout and her band was one tight unit.
Her many fans don’t need convincing but to those who might not be familiar with her work but enjoy the intersection of rock & blues, Orianthi is a safe bet for an amazing night of music.
Excellent show! A very talented musician with a varied repertoire of styles and songs and a very down to earth stage presence. I hadn’t heard of Sue before this show. Now that I’ve seen her, I’ll definitely try to catch her live again sometime
Ali Handal was a great opener with Dylan and Toby from the trio. The second vocalist was great. This was my first time seeing the Greg Koch Trio live and they did not disappoint. Greg is one of the skilled and versatile guitarists around. The strong rhythm section made them one of the best trios around. We had dinner and the food was great along with our preferred seating which was right in front of the stage. Will definitely go to the Iridium whenever my favorite artists comes through NYC.
Unbelievable show The whole band were all extremely talented individuals and played their hearts out Blew the roof off of the Iridium Friday night A must see for any blues fan Plays like Elmore James but even better in my opinion Can’t wait to see him again This time I will bring all my friends to fill the place up Tony Wiszowaty
Amazing show - great songs, sounds, music & message. Nattali is super talented & a compelling performer with great, positive energy & inspirational words!
The Rhythm Section (Bass & Drums) were amazing, as was the whole band.
Opener Minori was also great - KILLER Show!
Excellent! They were super great and played their music with a lot of enthusiasm. They were also welcoming as they took the time to meet and take pictures with their fans! I had only one issue in that, although I was in the preferred seat, the stage was a little low so that I could not quite look at their fingers while they played. But all in all, it was such a wonderful night of good music and fun, plus the food was delicious and service was great. Bravo!!!
Over the past 20+ years, I’ve seen Rick and the boys dozens of time, and each time they’re somehow even better than before, The current lineup, with Andersen on guitar, Farrell on B3, and D’Mar on drums, is just extraordinary. They are, IMO, the absolute best blues band working today, bar none. Another AMAZING show in the books!
Mike was completely on Friday night. Iridium is a great venue for him. Great performance and lots of engagement with the audience. Sold-out show and 2 encores. Crowd was super appreciative. Come back soon, Mike.
I've been going to concerts for 50 years and I have to say seeing Albert Cummings and his band was on of the greatest shows I ever seen. We saw them in NYC at the Iridium on 51st and Broadway (which is a great music venue) and they blew us away. I can't wait to see them again. Scot Brewer
Amazing artist and pianist. Even if you don’t understand Portugués the groove the band has and especially Eliane just swept you away!
At the show we went, there were sound problems in the first part of the show, Eliane took it in a humorous way but it disturbed her significantly. Also the waiters move to much between the tables during the performance, and it is disturbing to the audience.
Also it was lamentable that Eliane did not came out to sign her CDs.
Could she become the next Stevie Ray? But never mind that. She’s growing into her own, and with mastery. And the top drawer band members can keep up - no small task. Finally, she is a generous musician, allowing band mates to shine in the spotlight. Great show!
