Demi with Jade Helliwell and Jess Thristan for A Girls Night In were a real treat. Amazing individual vocals and harmonies from all the fantastic artists. Plenty of laughs with the banter between them. All in all a fantastic night.
Band on the Wall was bouncing Demi Marriner opened proceedings as support, she did a short set of her own material she is a wonderful songwriter in her own right as well as being a member of Elles amazing band, When they hit the stage Elles & her band were magnificent from start to finish performing songs from Beneath the Neon Glow & songs from previous releases, the sound in the venue was awesome the engineers did a great job, a 20/10 performance for everyone involved, a truly great night.🎤🔥🤟👌💖
Absolutely AMAZING! I have waited a couple of years to be able to see S&T and they delivered 100%. The place was rocking and they guys are really friendly and were happy to sign stuff and chat to the crowd. Really great show!
What a fantastic night, the music from the band, the voice was amazing great atmosphere .there guitarist was amazing too.the whole night was fabulous, not too crowded able to dance, they were even better live .can't wait to see them next time
If you don’t love The Felice Brothers there may be something wrong with you. 😀
Wry, infectious, living their best lives and making sure their audiences do too. Brilliant stuff.
A lovely, warm support set from Tapir! as well (actually just an Ike Gray solo).
Fantastic gig. Probably my favourite venue, with one of my favourite bands. Atmosphere was insanely electric. Oodles of positive energy from Aziza Jay kept everyone moving. Even the crusty old farts like me.
Got to be the most talented all round artist on the planet. The chemistry between Foy and Bonnie is a joy to watch. Another fantastic evening watching Foy. Band on the wall
Also a great venue for live music.
The venue was clean and secure but there was a long wait at the bar but then I guess that can be excepted and most lively concerts. The first two opening band were incredible and really unique. In my opinion The rolling people were too loud due to it getting above 120 db which caused my ears to ring all night. The music and vibe overall was good and I would go to see The Rolling People again as long as it isn’t as loud
3rd time I've seen him live. Amazing gig every time. He's developing his songwriting/arranging and stage presence very nicely. A big star for the future if there's any justice.
Great sound, great, show, great night, cheers Andrew!
Bewton as always was superb. His supporting act NATI was incredible too! Band on the wall is a great, intimate venue, however it needs better air flow/air con to try and keep the temperature a bit more comfortable.
Lovely to get to see the great Mr Hayes. His playing is wonderful, humourful and delicate. He was fun to listen too and I enjoyed his gentle jokes and knowledge. The band with him are very skilled. I went to see the man of course but would perhaps liked to have a wee bit more of the individual diverse sounds of Common Ground. It is years since I was last at BoTW and I like it. What wasn't great was the seating. We were at rear and basically had to contend with a constant flow of people in and out of the gig for bar and toilet all night, plus continuous dropping or kicking over of beer glasses - not good during quiet or moving pieces. I think a bit more calm would have made the experience better. I sensed the crowd were not as fully attentive as they should have been. Why not just wait for a pint until the interval? Please close the bar when the musicians are playing - out of respect to artist and paying audience. Good idea? Seems sense to me. The air conditioning was very draughty and made the place on a mild night almost chilly. Perhaps calm it down a notch in future - it wasn't a rave and not that much heat was being generated! I am not being a moaner - I went for music not chilled beer. Please take note mebbe? Mike D.
What an awesome show! Up until this month, I'd been trying to see this band for ages but esch time something happened which meant I couldn't attend . I then saw them at End Of The Road Festival at the start of the month and that was a great gig. But seeing them in their own gig at Band On The Wall was on another level.
Both support bands were excellent even though Folly Group didn't have their usual full line-up but Geese were absolutely outstanding. Each member of the band are awesome musicians and there is an obvious connection, friendship and respect between them. The atmosphere both before they came on and during the gig was literally electric. They completely owned the venue from the moment they came onto the stage. They had a few technical issues both with the drum microphones and the keyboards but this only added to the sense of drama and the way they dealt with it demonstrates how much they care about giving a great performance for their fans. I go to several gigs every month, nd have been doing so for many years but this was one of the best gigs I have seen in my life - definitely top 3. I will make sure I buy tickets next time they play in a city near me.
Temples are known for their original psychedelic style self-penned material and BOTW was the ideal venue to show it off. Great acoustics plus small enough that there were no bad views - the balcony made it accessible at pavement level and to those who didn't fancy "moshing". Good balance of old and new songs, though obviously most were from Exotica. Well-staffed bar so minimal queuing. As it's a small place, it was lovely to get chance to say hi to the band at the end as they stay to sign merchandise.
I've waited almost 10 years to see Temples play live and I enjoyed every minute of Saturday's Manchester gig.
Absolutely top class musicians playing beautiful music. I have loved the Yellowjackets since I first saw them at Glasgow fruit market around 1990. Their line up has changed a little but they are still fantastic. I miss Jimmy Haslop on base but Dane just blew me away. His bass playing was incredible, really unbelievable.
Thank you so much Yellowjackets for an amazing evening!
What a night I took my daughter who I’d been trying to get to listen to Outside Child for a year, she like me was blown away. The rainbow coalition were wonderful so together and great musicians. Lady Nade was a great opener with a fantastic wit along with great music. As for Allison Russell what a performance, any one who knows the background to Outside Child knows the harrowing childhood she suffered, yet the whole concert never fails to entertain as well as the strong message delivered so eloquently.
Luckily for my daughter who is now sold on her we are off to Piece Hall in July and cannot wait.
So refreshing to go to a gig where no one was on their phones, instead of a sea of tiny screens you could actually see the band/visuals and fully immerse yourself in the music. Best gig I’ve been to in ages 🙌🏼
Great venue, bar with food next door and linked.
Dea Matrona produced one of their best gig performances to a very receptive and lively crowd.
A very good short set as support act. Eleven songs included their famous Oh Well cover and two acoustic tracks.
Will be back to Manchester as headline act in May (date and venue to be announced)
Fanstic seeing Drake live again in Manchester UK, had the VIP pass so I got to meat and great him before the show as he did a acoustic set with questions from us . We had pics after the set then I saw sat near the stage getting a great view of Drake and his band , then I met him again after the gig as I needed help after the show and Drake and I talked again after the show . It was great seeing him on stage after he getting well again , can't wait to see him again in Manchester . I wish him all the best and good health , yours Robert Lismore UK
Sound of the Sirens were excellent at Manchester’s Band On The Wall on Sunday evening.
Abbe and Hannah were engaging and entertaining, they played a well balanced set of their new album and old favourites. The addition of Lucy on percussion and a top sound system also added to the event. The girls rocked it and can’t wait to catch them again at Kendal Calling festival.
Never been here before but what a great little venue. Was standing only but we knew this ahead of time, we could see and hear everything perfectly. Avi was fantastic, what a stunning voice.
