We’ve seen David several times and he’s always amazing. Great stories told to great music. We’ve even travelled to northern California to see his two night’s of performance!
If you get the chance, do not missed seeing this very talented, entertaining young man!
Colin Blunstone with his new backup band were on fire at McCabe’s Guitar shop in Santa Monica on Feb 27th.. This show was put together at the last minute by his stellar management team because of two concert cancellations that were out of their control in LA.
The Rocks, headed by Chris and Cindy pulled off a freakin miracle. McCabe’s is a guitar shop that has a small performing space in the back of the shop. Their small stage somehow allowed all of Colin’s band members to perform fabulously and the sound system allowed each note to be heard without distortion - totally balanced. Colin’s master sound engineer made sure of that because he’s been touring with Colin and The Zombies for many years. Also Colin’s rhythm section, by the way, was tight and funky. It was hard for me to stay in my seat!!! That evening was filled with fantastic music and Colin’s recollection of rock ‘n’ roll moments in his life.
Songs like: Miles Away, Misty Roses, Levi Stubbs Tears , Carolinegoodbye, Wild Places, Tell Her No…just to name a few of his 90 minute show. It truly was a special night of rock and roll gold. Please check out Colin Blunstone’s show when he comes to a city near you- you’ll enjoy every minute of it - we sure did!!!!
First time seeing her and it will definitely not be my last. Loved hearing about her life and backstory to the songs. She was fantastic. The space is intimate and musician’s paradise.
Amazing musician with a voice like an angel…with a sneaky sense of humor. She is highly entertaining and we can’t wait to see her again!
The perfect venue for an artist like Gill Landry. He was at the top of his game with his guitar. Played a satisfying mix of favorites and songs from his new album, Cinnamon Canyon Blues. Heavenly crowd of true music lovers.
Great show! A little sad about change in lead vocals, but always a good time! McCabes is a gem in this city. Looking forward to the concert in the park September 1.
This was my 3rd time seeing them and I’ll definitely see them again These girls are a good time with amazing g talent ! Can’t wait to see them again !fantastic!!!!
Soul Asylum was great but the opener, Victoria Williams, was the worst act I’ve ever seen in my entire life (and I’ve been a touring musician for 25 years).
The show was fabulous. It was at times quite slow and soothing like maybe these live performances won’t keep happening year after year. Excellent performance from our favorite folk musician.
Miss Werner is difficult to review. She is so extraordinarily gifted that her no-frills image conceals the immense talent and craft and drive and the work she has done to get here. Her wry humor conceals a deeply felt philosophy. So, she does all the work and makes it easy for her audience's fun and also for the medicine go down.
I haven't seen a performer to casually hold an audience in the palm of her hand since I went to Judy Garland concerts. Miss Garland had a full orchestra. Miss Werner has a guitar and piano.
I would like it if more people could have the pleasure of Miss Werner's gifts. She knocked it out of the park at McCabe's.
Amazing shows every time! This one was extra special because she added a second show to give the opportunity to those who weren't able to get tickets for the first show. Jonatha has an incredible voice, amazing songs, and is highly entertaining. I see her perform every chance I get.
Jonatha is the consummate performer. It was the late show and was filled with her fabulous energy. She made each one of us feel like she was talking directly to us. Fabulous show with fabulous music.
Such a real raw spirit. Her voice is mesmerizing and takes you into your own heart. I feel so lucky to have seen her perform in such an intimate space as McCabes. A perfect experience
Such a fun show and a great night out! Beth's songs are thoughtful and beautiful, and her sense of humor lights up the stage. The sold-out crowd was loving every moment and Beth came out after the show to meet everyone and sign autographs.
Great show!!! I haven't seen Slaid Cleaves in years but listen to his music often. I am so glad I attended his show as his clear voice, words and music are beautiful. I loved the location at McCabe's Guitar shop, as it was the first time there. If you haven't been introduced to Slaid's music, you are in for a treat. Check out his song "Put the shovel down".
Miss Gauthier’s concert of amazing songs was out of this world wonderful! I’ve been to hundreds of concerts big and small and this rates in my top five! How lucky I was to have caught a show that included Jamiee Harris! The two of them are incredible entertainers with songs and stories that kept me spellbound for two hours (no intermission). I was only sorry when the show ended!
What an all around amazing experience!! It was like our own private concert at McCabe’s that we didn’t want to ever end. John kills it at everything he touches: guitar, piano, harmonica, vocals, songwriting, storytelling. Such talent! Our hearts left full, and we can’t wait for more!
We've seen Rob & Trey a number of times and they are always phenomenal. They play a wide range of genres with just a dobro & guitar and always make excellent music.
McCabes is a historic institution. It's not a club but rather a pure listening room. It's all about the music. My first time there was in the esky early 70's, msy it never change.
Jane’s voice was amazing and she was more comfortable than ever which made for a truly magical evening at a super intimate venue. Only wish it had been longer. 😄
In a word, awesome....A woderful experience. I was amazed that she would perform for such a small group. She was funny and witty. Very interactive. The PA was set up perfect. Not to loud or quiet. Her singing and guitar were amazing. Id love to see her perform again!! I never got to see her in the 90s, so it was kinda a dream to see her.
