The show was awesome! Me and my wife had a great great time. Started promptly at 8:00 and they all played for 2 1/2 hours straight. I would recommend this show to anyone that has even the slightest appreciation of Jimi Hendrix.
My only gripe is with the venue(s) these days. Tired of EVERYTHING being digital,,, Why can't you pay for even the most simple items with actual money ? Everything is cashless, down to a F'ing bag of potato chips,,,really,,,, can I just pay for a bag of chips with a couple of dollars ? I went through the "self service" line and grabbed a pre-made sandwich out of a cooler and had to pay with a card,,, and of course I get an immediate prompt to leave a tip ???? On a sandwich that I got myself,,,,F that,,,,
Back to the music and artists,,, just amazing :))! Loved every minute of the show !
Incredible show, such a great value for the money. Tommy Karevik has really come into his own with Kamelot, and his genuineness was felt by everyone.
Hammerfall is a glory band of pioneer power metalers. Both bands were amazing. We missed Ad Infinitum but got to see Melissa Bonny with Kamelot, she is a great singer and performer.
So great. He’s sings each song in a unique way. Not just like it was recorded. Truly sounded and felt like live music and not just a repeat of what we hear on the radio. Lots of emotion and spirit. I added in. Cory is real, genuine, funny, charming and spirit filled. Beautiful night and truly anointed.
My 3rd time flying from Alaska to watch them in concert, and they just keep getting better and better every time!!! Live vocals and energy are truly unmatched. I’ve never seen an idol group like this. Do yourself a favor and watch them live NOW before they get bigger and bigger and tickets will be more expensive and harder to get.
Such a good concert! Starts with a great venue, amazing opening act with Blessing Offor, Spirit filled evening all around. Zach and his talented band glorify God with not only all their great lyrics and music, which was flawless, but also with prayer, testimony and even coming together as God's church with Communion! Loved it!! Come back to Southern California soon Zach!!
Amazing event venue, I’ve seen Black Label Society here before and the lights are great, the sound could be better but still good. Black label always put on a great show and since it was my first time seeing Anthrax, it was really good to see both bands in this venue bc it keeps it on a smaller stage which is kinda intimate than say, the forum, Overall, great location for live music.
..man, glad to hear/see both Anthrax and Exodus are STILL on top of their game! To see 2/3 of the 'Headbangers Ball' tour (1989) in action again, was really a treat.
I'm not very familiar with Black Label Society, but they served as a good 'interim' band. Zakk Wylde and crew showcased their style and abilities rather impressively..
This is an honest review of a fan who was in the building. Collective Soul started out great, they were in a rocking mood and roared through the first half of the show. Ed Roland then started interacting with the audience, and he was seen smoking something that I bet was not tobacco right on the stage. I have never seen Collective Soul before, so I do not know if this was typical, but while he seemed really loose and having fun, it also seemed as though he lost focus on playing the set.
The band started "She Said" after a monologue, and he forgot a line. They restarted the song and played it really well. They then brought on a friend of the band whom Ed met in Nashville (I forget his name) and he played second lead guitar during "December". I have to admit, the guy was really good, and they turned "December" into an Allman Brothers-style jam, and ended up the song rocking "December" harder than I ever thought it could be. It was wonderful and Ed was having a great time.
The problem is that this shortened their set and they then started "Run", and ended it with an extended acoustic outro jam. Ed kept saying during "December" that this was so much fun, it was like jamming in their parents basement, that they had been making a new album for a month in Palm Springs, and that this was magical. He is right, it was great, but I could not help but notice that the set lists from shows earlier this month included "Gel' and "Where the River Flows". They cut these from the set and did not have an encore.
I gave 4 stars because the first half of the show was awesome and the second half, while messy, was fun. This is probably a rare show for this band, I bet they do not bust out jammy versions very often. So while I will have to be happy with having seen a unique Collective Soul show, I do feel Ed lost focus and, as a result, I lost a couple of songs. Major songs, too. I dock a star for that.
I may go see them again to get a chance at seeing more hits.
To see W.A.S.P. nearly to the day of their 40th anniversary of playing the same bill! From start to finish, Blackie and crew were fantastic, but perhaps best were Blackie's interactions of appreciation with the audience. Was wonderful to feel the love back from him. Great set, especially those from the first album plus a couple of more recent gems. Cool video backing too!
So excited to wake up to my Blackie Lawless W.A.S.P meet & greet pics!
This was by far one of my favourite meet & greets ever! It’s up there with Poison and Steven Adler.
There were only 25 people per meet & greet which was nice and small. We got to meet him, get two items signed, get photos with him, have a Q&A session where each and every person got to ask a question.
He was extremely honest with his answers. He answered questions regarding Chris Holmes without saying a single bad word about Chris, regardless what Chris has been telling the media most recently, which has been BAD.
I chose to ask him about how he denounced Christianity at a young age saying he was brainwashed as a child into it by his parents, then focused on occultism, I then asked if his constant use of crucifixes and religious icons on his album covers was a bit of a F#*! You to Christianity. I asked this knowing that awhile ago he had since gone back to Christianity completely, but I knew he would give me an honest heartfelt answer which he did. And it was great! It was probably a 2-3 minute answer, and he did this with everyone.
He treated everyone like a proper human being as opposed to just a number, like too many rockers do unfortunately.
After the Q&A, we got to go behind the scenes and onto the stage to take a pic on his iconic, unique, one-of-a-kind famous microphone stand he calls ‘Elvis’… this mic stand is amazing!!!!!
And you can see Blackie’s original B. C. Rich Widow Bass Guitar is there too.
And of course we got some guitar picks too… and with a bit of talking I made sure I got 3 times that amount 😝
Unfortunately I’ve seen some negative comments on W.A.S.P fan pages about Blackie’s appearance, that he looks miserable, doesn’t want to be there, etc. (comments from people NOT at the meet & greets) but honestly the man is a ray of sunshine! He may have a touch of resting bitch face dare I say it… but he definitely loves his fans and loves to be surrounded by them!! He just isn’t good at smiling even if he tries 😅
Trust me, he has the right intentions and loves his fans first and foremost!
Secondly, I’ve seen so many posts about possibly lip syncing and backing tracks etc.
I know a lot of older musicians do this and sure when you are his age it’s more common, but I was front row, I watched so carefully and I truly believe Blackie did not lip sync. I’d have no problem admitting if he did.
But I really do not for a second think he did. And that even shocks me. The guy is 66 years old and he’s just himself. Not perfect, doesn’t try to be, but he’s amazing just the way he is.
🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Jeff Beck, GREAT as usual! Depp a mere curiosity.
This was the worst sitting arrangement the Grove has ever offered. No access aisles!! People wandering constantly looking for a way out. One center aisle that went from the stage to the back rail with no access to it. People ran into a dead end at either end. $$ over convenience.
I purchased a tier 1 ticket for this event. Parking was easy, entering through the crystal lounge was easy. There was complimentary coffee and cookies available. Seating was tight but it wasn’t unbearable. Exiting the venue was easy as well. The only reason I give four stars is because of security. After the show there was a small group waiting to see if Johnny Depp was going to come out. Security got very nasty and even caused an injury to an elderly person with a disability. If you do not want people to park by the fence in the back there should be barricades put up. Security made threats of locking everyone in the parking lot and even calling Anaheim PD to come and write tickets. In the end, they all went and lined up where Johnny eventually came out. But that didn’t stop him from coming to sign autographs! Johnny’s security was more professional than that of the venue.
This show was so much fun, both wasp and armored Saint were awesome, highly recommend any wasp , armored Saint or heavy metal fans check out this tour, I also did the vip and it was great, if you are on the fence about getting the vip it’s awesome and one of the best vips I have ever done, traditionally vips are so fast and not worth the money at all , but I really liked the wasp one , a real great q & a and I got to meet the legend blackie lawless and it came with some other cool stuff like blackie’s guitar picks
What a wonderful evening from beginning to end! The venue was top notch and seeing Nick Lowe perform live was a rare thrill. He is in fine form and sounded better than ever. What a stellar presence he is. His backing band Los Straitjackets rocked the house with skill and a sense of fun. And when Mr. Lowe joined Elvis Costello for 3 songs at the end, there wasn't a dry eye on my face.
The show was terrific - such amazing talent!!! We loved it!
It would have nice to have the option for a program - would have loved to have the performers names.
The venue (Grove of Anaheim), however, was horrible ... non-graded floor meant we could not see when someone was seated in front of us. Patrons kept moving seats, so we had to as well ... just to see over their heads. Acoustics were good, but sight lines were awful.
Concert was amazing. I’ve been following them since I got saved in 1997. They are my favorite band and I’ve seen them in concert five times and that was the best show I’ve ever seen of any concerts. I’ve been to a lot of concerts and skillet really gave it their all last night. They are amazing. Jen really knocked it out of the park too with her new band. Couldn’t have been a better time having a brothers night out with my two brothers. Couldn’t of made it in my walk with the Lord without them. They have carried me the whole way. Love you skillet.
REO Speedwagon put on a great show! They have been around a long time but they still seem to enjoy what they are doing. They were wonderful. I only gave 4.5 stars because the seating in the venue is SO uncomfortable. The tables are very close together with too many chairs on each side so it is hard to turn the chair so you can see the show without looking sideways at the stage. All the chairs are uncomfortable banquet type chairs.
LOVED, LOVED, LOVED the show!!! Mainly I went to see Sonata Arctica. I knew Kamelot a little bit I had no idea who Battle Beast were..(shame on me😄😄). But I have to say..I bought this for my bday and I really enjoy all three bands❤️💖
I’ve seen Sonata Arctica before but I wouldn’t mind to see any of these bands again!!
Shannon Rae and 100 Proof were at their best last night at the Grove in Anaheim. She is a great singer of her original country songs and her band are excellent musicians. They had the crowd rocking for over an hour. It was a fun night with the Long Run - Eagles Tribute playing the classic Eagles hits for over 1 1/2 hours. They were great musicians and singers. I liked how they shared the lead vocals.
I was born and raised on punk rock yet these guys seem to know how to put on a performance that will brainwash you. No exaggeration, I kind of wish I'd never heard of them from listening to Howard stern and the day someone brought a dark lotus CD to my house cause my stereo is retarded powerful, I've been a motherfucking juggalo since that day. The sentiment of each of them as loving their fans alone is amazing, that's rare enough in the music industry. The fact they did all of what they have without the music industry is something I love and really admire about them, hear about it in theory all the time in punk from a hole bands like green gay and whoever else just singing about it. If you take the lyrics out of the music their beats are still amazing, and you'd still have a whole stand up comedy act with their lyrics. I think at one point of this show I almost cried, just love these guys with or without the faygo.
