Great show. Was hoping to hear a couple of songs from his solo career e.g. Break It To Him Gently, Your Backyard, I Will Play a Rhapsody, Stand Tall, etc. He only played The Guess Who songs and a JJ Cale cover. Irrespective, it was a great show. Last saw him over 40 years ago and although is voice has lost some range, it is still classic Burton Cummings. Thanks for all the years of music you have given us.
The show was fabulous! Burton Cummings has written and played more chart toppers than imaginable for more than 50 years!
Obviously, he doesn’t sing like he did in his 30’s but the emotion and the memories make up for that.
I was very happy with his song selection as the highest number of songs were big hits from the Guess Who days and then from his solo career.
I was hoping he wouldn’t spend too much time trying to hype up his upcoming new album but I was surprised that he never mentioned it at all.
Overall, I’d gladly attend another Burton Cummings concert.
This was the first time I’ve been to Knuckleheads and it is unlike anything else I’ve been to.
The only real complaint is how difficult it is to get to. If you use GPS, you’ll get within a half block but there trains sitting stationary on the tracks and you can’t cross. We had to try four different routes before we were able to get to their parking lot.
I might have missed it but I don’t recall getting information ahead of time that the bar is cash only. That would have been nice to know.
Again, if there was another band that I wanted to see, I would gladly return to Knuckleheads.
Drake was awesome as was his band. They played almost 2 hrs and because the venue was small as was the crowd in the middle of the week, we got up close and personal, we got pis, autographs and talked to the band members. It was a great show, great price and I would definitely go again.
#1 Best Show we have seen in years! These guys are fantastic, and I encourage everyone to see them. We drove 8 hrs. to see them at Knuckleheads and had a great time. Knuckleheads is a great music venue and their crew really work hard so you can have the very best experience while you are there. Will definitely do it again.
These guys are sooooo amazing every single time that I have seen them since 1996. Tonight's show was centered around their Christmas Caravan record. The cool thing was that they pulled material from EP's and demo material that they seldom if ever played live. I even got a "Santa Claus is Smokin' Reefer" from an obscure EP they put out. The song isn't even listed on the album, and you have to listen to a couple minutes of silence before it even plays. These guys are world class and they have even hired an amazing violin/ multi instrumentalist who is able to effectively pull off the Andrew Bird violin solos from the early days. Spend the money to support these fine people. It will be the BEST Holiday show that you have EVER seen!
Keith was Fabulous! Fantastic performer! Held the audience captive with music and storytelling. Very, very talented guitar player and beautiful and skillful vocalist. I would highly recommend him to anyone who wants to see a top notch show! All live music. He's on tour until mid December. Go to his website to get tickets to his show.
So knuckleheads garage great venue awesome venue so I'll tell Talia keys open for Lucas Nelson and potr. Talia keys was amazing. Lukas Nelson and potr they where absolutely amazing. It was like my wildest dream. I have to see them again because it still doesn't feel real. I almost had somebody pinch me. Lol
Definitely will be following this tour
It was an awesome concert I will never forget! They had so much energy and played all my favorite songs. I had a place standing in front of the stage and never moved in almost 2 and one half hours. I saw The Mavericks in Vegas about 30 years ago when they first made it big and have been a fan all these years. I saw several months ago they were coming to KC and I knew I had to see them again. Spectacular!!
Love the band - great venue, as always! The sound system for vocals wasn’t as strong as it was for the band. Maybe done on purpose since they had to cancel the show the night before this one? SUPER THANKFUL they made this show happen! Ready to see them again when they swing thru DesMoines later this summer.
We have seen Jason 10 or. 12 times and he never disappoints. The Delectric set was definitely different from the normal honky tonk sets, but it was really, really good. It felt like they were playing in our back yard for a group of friends. If you get the chance go to one of these shows, go!
Anthony Gomes, Jacob and Chris put on another fantastic show. The venue was fun. We had never been before. Only one issue, Friday we called and confirmed the kitchen would be open. 40 minutes before doors opened with a lot of people waiting outside, we received an email saying that the kitchen was closed but feel free to Uber eat. That was disappointing. BUT over all the venue was great and Anthony fantastic! SY
The bands were great, and Mac puts on a heck of a show (my daughter really liked Lung). The venue has a semi narrow area for standing room up front so a few guys trying to start a mosh pit ended up just bumping into people who wanted no part in it. Eventually some punches were thrown and words were exchanged. Other than that...cool.
Nashville Pussy - full on rock n' f'n roll! If you've ever seen them before you aren't surprised. Best substitution for a show EVER! Love 'em!
The Reverend Horton Heat - need I say more? The reason I went to the show. Last night was the 29th time I have witnessed them live - not counting all of the StageIt shows during the pandemic - I am a Gravel Farmer fan.
The Toadies - fantastic. I loved their work in the 90's alternative rock hey day and saw them open for Bush and co-headline with the Rev and again at the Bottleneck in Lawrence - super solid and badass band.
Great show - period.
Richie was all I had hoped he would be… and more! He was engaging, seemed relaxed and it was over before I knew what hit me!
His guitar and vocals are sheer perfection and he makes it all seem so effortless. But it’s not, if you really watch and listen, it is an incredibly intricate journey at most points, vocals one minute, guitar the next!
Dylan Wilson, his bassist, is incredible in his own right and I am not letting him and his new album off my radar!
The drummer, Bruno Valverde, is very good also! A pleasure to watch and groove with.
Bottom line, don’t miss anything with Richie Kotzen involved! I guarantee it will be quality, awe-inspiring music that will resonate with you forever.
Knuckleheads Garage was a great venue for this show. Fairly intimate and sound was great.
I knew what to expect from Richie Kotzen. But what I saw was so much more! Richie's guitar skills are evenly matched by his soulful vocals. He played a great mix of old and new music with such majesty and skill. His accompanying band are great musicians, and they played their hearts out for the medium sized crowd. I left with my soul fulfilled and the satisfaction of seeing a great show! Now I just need to find my face 'cause he melted it off.
Elton Dan and the Rocket Band put on an incredible show wherever they go! Both Dan and each of the members of the exceptional band are extremely talented and personable. Their love of performing shine through. The last three shows have been sell outs, and I hate to see them go to larger venues because one of the greatest joys is the smaller, more intimate venues they choose.
Recommended to everyone, and their parents and kids!
Loved the show and the q and a session was so good. was so glad we bought vip tickets. He is so personable and we felt like being we were in a "conversation" with him. (and he sang the song I asked about!). I came with my granddaughter as I did the last time I attended his concert in 2019 and also my sister in law who became a new fan!! Wonderful evening!!!!
Wow, what an incredible unforgettable show!!! Another SOLD OUT show for Ward. Ward wrote the following comment on his Facebook page the day after this show at Knuckleheads…… “I remember the first time I played Kansas City. 7
years ago. There were about 40 people there. I also remember thinking how awesome it was to get 40 people to show up to hear me, that wanted to hear my songs, and not Wagon Wheel. I honestly thought that was as good as it would get for me. Don't get me wrong, it was great. But I just never figured in a million years I'd get 600 people to buy a ticket with my name on it in Kansas City. It wasn't supposed to happen. But be damned if it didn't. People probably think I'm crazy, sitting in the airport with tears pouring down my face staring at my phone.…typing my old thumbs off. They probably think my girlfriend broke up with me, or I'm flying home to put my dog down..but it's just happy, humbled, grateful, sappy. ass me. I'll never forget last night. Ever.”
It has been over 4 years since I first saw DTB at Wakarusa Music Festival in Lawrence Kansas. Since then I have waited to hear if they were ever coming to KC. Last Thursday night they did and I was not disappointed at all. They played like a veteran band, tight, on que and as one. If I would make one suggestion is please don’t wait so long again.
Great show! Very personal and intimate setting. A lot of interaction with the crowd and the songs were great. Second time seeing Ghost of Paul Revere but at a different venue. I’ve loved both shows. These guys are great and can play the hell out of their instruments. I will always go see them when I have a chance!
