Sobre Plebe rude

Plebe Rude is a Brazilian punk rock band, formed in Brasília in 1981 by Phillipe Seabra (vocals, guitar), Jander Ribeiro "Ameba" (vocals, guitar), André Mueller "X" (bass) and Gutje Fortman (drums). Their influences came from British and American punk rock bands such as The Clash, Stiff Little Fingers, The Undertones, Buzzcocks and Ramones.

Their debut album, released in 1985, O Concreto Já Rachou, sold more than 250,000 copies, making them one of the bigger names of the Brazilian rock scene in the 80s. After releasing two more albums, 1987's Nunca Fomos Tão Brasileiros and 1989's Plebe Rude, their contract with label EMI was terminated. Soon after, Ameba quit the band due to tensions between the members.

After performing in the early 90s as the Clash City Rockers - a Clash tribute band, Gutje Fortman also quit the band. The duo of Seabra and André X endured, releasing an independent album, 1993's Mais Raiva Do Que Medo, before going their separate ways in 1994.

In 1997 a box set with the first three albums was released, followed by the compilation Preferência Nacional in 1998. The success in sales encouraged the band members to start performing again, and they released the long-awaited live album Enquanto a Trégua Não Vem in 2000.

In 2004, Phillipe Seabra and André X announced officially that the band was getting back to performing and recording professionally, with the addition of Inocentes' Clemente (vocals, guitar) and the drummer Txotxa, formerly with Maskavo. In september 2006, Plebe Rude finally released their fifth studio album, the first with the new formation, the independent R ao Contrário
