About Minerale

2001
Minerale starts in a cellar, under the casual name of "Tous les Dimanches" as a friendly sunday jam-session composed of school and college friends. The backbone of the gang were and still are Jack (vocal, guitar), Stanley (guitar, piano), and Simon (bass). The drum sticks regularly changing hands. But at that time "Tous les Dimanches" were also often accompanied by violins, cello, clarinette and sax. A taste for classical instruments which has never left Minerale.

2002-2003
On the occasion of a "mini-festival" organised by friends, "Tous les Dimanches" changed their name to "Minerale", a name that better reflects their music. It is also at that time that Minerale starts working on a set and begins recording a 5-track demo. Demo which eventually falls in the hands of Belgorock.be founder, Jerry Vandevelde, which decides to take Minerale under his management.

2004
Breakthrough year. Jerry hands the demo to Phillipe Decoster of 62TV Records and Minerale gets to open for Alfie in the Rotonde of the Botanique. From then on they are found playing at Boutik Rock, The Nuits Botanique and Dour Festival to name a few. Minerale is also selected to play for the Verdur Rock Contest (where they finish 2nd) and for the final of Concours-Circuit (where they also finish 2nd, hence "the Poulidor du rock" auto-proclaimed nickname!).

2005
Minerale is now in cruising mode in its quest for greater recognition and gets to play on a regular basis with bigger and bigger dates, perfecting their live gigs (Dour, Nuits Botanique (opening for Archive), Fête de l'Iris, and many other festivals and concerts. 2005 is also the year they get signed by their early musical "godfathers" 62TV. Minerale records an EP (5 tracks) which is mixed by Pal Jenkins, the leader of Black Heart Procession, but the band unsatisfied with the final result, decide not to release it and to concentrate on a full album.

2006
Minerale records during 9 months with australian sound-gourou Peter Crosbie (Mint, Jason Donovan, ...) and with Charlie the magic drummer of Mudflow. Minerale's first single, "Eyes Eyes", go's "Fresh" (high rotation) on PureFM in June, soon followed by the album's second single "Millionnaire" in September, also fresh on PureFm as well as being aired on Studio Brussel (rare enough to be noted!). The album "Shrines" was released the 5th October by BANG! The official album release gig is held the 20th October at the Ancienne Belgique with the Tellers.

Today the band is composed of Jack (vocal, guitar), Stanley (guitar, piano), Simon (bass), Marc (synths, percussions, accoustic guitar) and Manu (drums). But, when possible, Minerale still enjoys to play with musical friends such as Catherine of Mièle (trombone, clarinette, vocals) and Ben (Sax, clarinette bass, flute), an old friend from "Tous les Dimanches".
