TV FACE Biography

Very good and very heavy!” - Deb Grant, BBC Radio 6 Music

“Whatever it is, it’s backed up by tight bass and drums and huge reverb laden guitar textures, unfolding a grindhouse tale of fear and paranoia.” - Tom Robinson, BBC Radio 6 Music

“It's just absolutely fantastic. It's music that smashes against walls and floors and ceilings and changes shape on each ecstatic, erratic, elastic bounce. ... An explosive, serrated slice of jagged schizoid noise pop, with those post-punk corners, kept sharp.” - Louder Than War

The band called TV FACE are a gang-of-three from Lancaster (UK). They are known for their ear-blistering and intense live shows, and described as “a wonderful trident of piercing guitar, bass and drums, unified by vocals through the torrent of hot noise, thunderous rumble and acid-scuzz” (Louder Than War). A classic three-piece, they have been compared to Mclusky, Brainiac, Minutemen. Gloriously, riotously, unashamedly angry, with a dash of indignation, and a soupçon of incredulity, their songs rage at the expectations of the keep-calm-and- carry-on-gang.

Their debut album Tide of Men was released on 22 September 2023 on Evil Blizzard’s label Crackedankles Records (Evil Blizzard, Thank, Hot Wax, Fighting, and more). It was named Louder Than War’s album of the week. The self-produced album was recorded partly in an old church, and partly in a bungalow in rural Lancashire, and mastered by Pete Maher (White Stripes, Pixies). The lead single 'I knew a girl I didn’t know' was released as a limited edition lathe-cut 7” single that sold out in a couple of hours.

TV FACE have been played by, amongst others, Huw Stephens (Radio One), Deb Grant and Tom Ravenscroft (6Music), Frank Skinner (Absolute Radio), Tom Robinson (6Music), John Kennedy (Radio X), Mat Baty (Pigsx7, Amazing Radio), Frankie Francis (Amazing Radio), BBC Music Introducing Lancashire. They have supported Warmduscher, Evil Blizzard, FlithyDirty, Thank, Objections, and Brix Smith.
