About this concert
Here I Am, Nashvillian songstress Alice Wallace declares on her new album, releasing June 28 via Mule Kick Records. It’s a title that hints at her deeply personal, confessional songwriting style, one that invites the listener to gaze at her beating heart as each intimate secret pours out, propelled by a powerful, expressive delivery that marks her as one of the true vocal talents of her generation. Join her for her Nashville release show on July 3rd at the Analog, along with eclectic roots-soul songwriter Melody Walker and her 'Lectric Band. Wallace was named 2017 Female Vocalist of the Year by the California Country Awards and her voice has been called “a powerful natural occurrence… an awe-striking wonder" by Saving Country Music. She previously released four solo albums, the latest of which, 2019’s Into the Blue, earned recognition from Rolling Stone Country with the title track being named one of the Best Americana Songs to Hear Now. Here I Am is the first of her solo albums to be recorded since moving to Nashville, and in true Music City style, backed by a lineup of world-class musicians and produced by Nick Buda. Cuttingly self-exploring, delivered with emotionality, and with just the right pop Americana sensibilities, Here I Am is Alice Wallace’s most expansive album yet. ABOUT MELODY WALKER Melody Walker is a songwriter, producer, performer, and fervent believer that songs can change the world. Best known for her writing with Molly Tuttle [youtube.com], Sierra Ferrell [youtube.com], and her own band Front Country, Melody’s post-pandemic rebirth has found her setting roots down in her home of East Nashville, co-writing with her talented neighbors and hosting her weekly round, Writers’ Kitchen [instagram.com]. Her blend of Americana and Pop has won her accolades from Merlefest to Telluride and now the GRAMMYs, with co-writes on Molly Tuttle’s GRAMMY-winning albums, Crooked Tree and City of Gold. 2024 brought the release of Sierra Ferrell's latest album Trail of Flowers, featuring the Walker-penned instant classics "American Dreaming", "Dollar Bill Bar" and "Wish You Well". Melody has begun releasing her first solo music in over a decade, stepping into her own as an artist and finding magic in queer collaboration. Whether going folk-viral on TikTok or protesting red state repression with her Grateful Dead drag band [gratefuldrag.com], BERTHA, Melody is ready to ride whatever cosmic creative waves the universe sends her way.

Alice Wallace Biography

“It’s a song about taking the risk to do what you love,” Alice Wallace says of the soaring track, “The Blue,” which yields a lyric entitling her spellbinding new album. With "Into the Blue," set for release January 18, the California-country singer-songwriter conjures the atmospheric sound of the Golden State’s canyons and deserts, mountains and crashing waves, its crowning beauty and its tragic losses. At the same time, the supple-voiced Wallace tells her own and others’ stories, weaving tales that resonate as we grapple with so many disturbing national issues.

Into the Blue is Wallace’s fourth album but marks her debut on the brand-new Rebelle Road label, an imprint founded by a trio of women dedicated to strengthening the California Country music community and expanding visibility for female artists in the Americana/roots genre. “They care so deeply about giving women a stronger voice in the music industry,” Wallace attests. Having spent the past six years writing songs and touring the nation – from AMERICANAFEST® to county fairs, barrooms to coffeehouses – Alice Wallace is ready to break out. “It takes bravery to ‘sail away into the blue’ and grab it,” she says. “It took me until about six years ago to finally take the plunge, quit my job and go for it. I haven’t looked back since.”

Into the Blue represents Wallace’s evolution as a recording artist, showcasing her growth as a songwriter as she embraces a fuller sound, backed by some of Americana’s most distinctive players. Co-produced by Steve Berns and Rebelle Road’s studio veteran, songwriter and musician KP Hawthorn (who’ve made a name for themselves working with artists in the West coast Americana scene), the album is brimming with soul. The formidable rhythm section, including drummer Jay Bellerose (Bonnie Raitt, Elton John, Aimee Mann) and bassist Jennifer Condos (Jackson Browne, Graham Nash), underpins instrumentation ranging from Tom Bremer’s crunchy electric guitar to Kaitlin Wolfberg’s lush string arrangements to keys and pedal steel from Jeremy Long (Sam Outlaw).
