A propos de Slash's Snakepit
Slash's Snakepit was a rock band which was a side-project formed by then-Guns N' Roses lead guitarist Slash (Saul Hudson) in 1994. On their first album, Matt Sorum (drums), Gilby Clarke (rhythm guitar) and Dizzy Reed (keyboard) from Guns N' Roses played in this band. On bass was Mike Inez of Alice in Chains and Eric Dover (who had previously played guitar for Jellyfish) sang lead vocals.
GN'R colleague Teddy Andreadis also appeared on the record playing harmonica & keyboards.
Slash is stating that he wanted the band to simply be called "Snakepit", which was the name of his home studio, but the record company insisted they add his name to it to help increase sales.
It's Five O'Clock Somewhere, their first album, was released in 1995
These songs were offered to the rest of Guns N' Roses as prospective future material, but were flatly turned down by Axl Rose. There are rumors, that these songs also exist in a GN'R version.
2000 saw more recordings & live shows for Snakepit, but a completely new lineup (except for Slash). The band released Ain't Life Grand in October 2000, which, aside from Slash on lead guitar, featured Rod Jackson on vocals, Johnny Griparic on bass, Matt Laug on drums and Ryan Roxie on guitar. Keri Kelli later replaced Ryan Roxie.
They split in 2001. Slash now plays in Velvet Revolver (and so do Matt Sorum and former GN'R bass guitar player Duff McKagan). Slash has announced, that he won't reform the Snakepit, as long as he plays in Velvet Revolver.
