A propos de Fredo santana
Chicago native and GBE savage, Fredo Santana is definitely on the rise. After assisting with the successes of his younger cousin Chief Keef, Fredo is now taking the time to focus on his own career. Chief Keef’s track “I Don’t Like” were last year’s “B.M.F.,” and its video, shot at home for $300 now stands at 28 million-ish Youtube hits. Its provocative use of the 30-round extension clip or “stendo” stunned people who don’t pay any mind to national homicide rates into all of a sudden looking at what is happening in the daily lives of teenage boys and girls in Englewood, Chicago. And perhaps just as much as the gun waving and the cold-blooded delivery of the song, it was the look of G.B.E. and its Lamron/3hunna-affiliated members that really got the world and the major label checkbooks’ attention. [Vice.com] It was the release of Fredo’s first mixtape, It’s A Scary Site (now available on iTunes) in September of 2012 that gave people a sense of his personal style and a glimpse into the streets of Chicago regime . Songs like “My Lil Ni**as” featuring Chief Keef and Lil’ Reese and “Gang Bang” combined have over 12 million views on YouTube. Every song on the tape quickly became a fan favourite and spawned videos for almost every one of them. Fredo released his second mixtape Fredo Kruger on February 28. The tape included music by a number of producers from Chicago such as 12 Hunna and Tarentino, Young Chop and Mike Will, as well as features from Juelz Santana, Soulja Boy, Young Scooter, Fat Trel, Alley Boy, Trouble and GBE members Gino Marley, Tadoe, Capo, Ballout, Lil’ Reese and OTF head honcho Lil Durk. Fredo describes this new mixtape as trap trill hungry glory music. On September 15th, Fredo was featured in a short promo clip for 40 OZ Van new hat collection. In late September, he also appeared as one of the faces in the Stussy and Bape Ill Collaboration video and lookbook, and on September 24, he made a short cameo in Drake’s video for “Hold On We’re Going Home” playing alongside Steven Bauer (Manny Ribera in Scarface) and of course Drake himself, A$AP Rocky, Majid Jordan, Johnny Simmons, and Ashley Moore. On October 31, 2013 the song ”Jealous” ft. Kendrick Lamar was premiered via Rap Radar and received rave reviews with Billboard magazine calling it “a malicious collaboration“. This was the first offering off Fredo’s debut EP Trapping Ain’t Dead, which was subsequently released directly on iTunes on November 19th, 2013 via his own record label Savage Squad Records and with features from artists like Kendrick Lamar and Chief Keef, and production by Young Chop, Lex Luger, Tarentino, and more. The EP debuted on #34 in Soundscan’s top 200 Rap Albums the week of its release and peaked at #6 on iTunes Rap and Hip-Hop charts and #31 on all Albums charts during the day of its release. With a lot more projects on the way, this is only the beginning for a young living legend.
