The McHenry Music Festival was established as a unique way to “Pay it Forward” to the residents and visitors of McHenry, Illinois. By hosting a professional and large-scale annual music festival, McHenry Music Festival has found the perfect way for the McHenry community to raise funds for important projects while simultaneously celebrating our community in the best way possible—through music!
The McHenry Music Festival represents a true collaboration between the City of McHenry and the McHenry Music Festival organization. Since taking office in 2017, Mayor Wayne Jett has focused on bringing community needs to the forefront of the City’s goals. He quickly discovered that, like many communities, the balance between providing essential and non-essential services is often hindered by a lack of funding.
In 2019, the Mayor and his wife, Amber Jett, formed a Foundation, which aims to provide funding for City projects focused on enhancing the quality of life for children and their families in McHenry, Illinois. “These are projects that often fall to the bottom of the list due to funding shortages, yet they are crucial for uniting our community.”
This success has been made possible through the community’s love of music, featuring artists such as Brantley Gilbert, Brad Paisley, Old Dominion, Chris Young, Chris Janson, Dirty Heads, Sugar Ray, Sublime with Rome, Dustin Lynch, Lauren Alaina, and many others! To date, the McHenry Music Festival has raised over $1.2 million, donating all funds back to McHenry to make it a better place for families and children.
