TRAVELER, a brand-new 24-track record by Jannis Raptis, is here! Starting April 2023, we embark on a long musical journey with songs being released over the course of 2023/2024. Those Pop-Rock songs about life, love and traveling - containing lots of ethnic influences, ranging from Latin and Mediterranean music to Jazz - were always intended to be heard and sung by an international audience all over this beautiful planet of ours. The need: connection. The mission: oneness. After all, aren't we all travelers in this big, big world?
Born in 1991 in Heidelberg, Germany, yet of Greek origin, I spent most of his childhood and youth in Germany and Belgium before eventually graduating from high school in Vienna, Austria, where I studied Jazz Guitar and popular music until 2015. Castles, knights, and the medieval tales of central Europe as well as the breathtaking myths of my home country Greece have shaped me since my earliest childhood, which may be the reason why I became a storyteller in the first place, finding my niche in the German speaking high fantasy market, publishing ELASPHERA and my fantasy folk Troubadour songs. But it was the same me who couldn’t resist the glory of Rock’n’Roll, the transcendence of Jazz and the mysticism behind all kinds of folk music styles. I had to use my skillset in those genres, combined with my storytelling ability and knowledge about modern pop music in order to connect with you. This is how TRAVELER came to life.
