Brendan Perry (b.1959 Whitechapel, London) is a singer/songwriter and composer best known for his groundbreaking work with Dead Can Dance, a band he formed in Melbourne, Australia in 1980. Since his initial musical grounding in punk rock in New Zealand in 1977 he has experimented with and explored many musical forms and genres to produce a unique and almost otherworldly style of music that often defies classification. One defining feature of his work that is a direct consequence of his passion for traditional world music and culture, is his poetic vision for a more pluralistic society, that embraces the universal spirit within humankind, beyond borders, race and culture. It is this innate sensibility combined with his talent as a multi-instrumentalist and singer that has allowed him to move seamlessly between musical genres and traditions in order to present a world view that is both timeless and classical.

In these series of upcoming intimate concerts he will be performing music that reflects this cultural wanderlust, performing songs from his two previous solo albums ‘Eye of the Hunter’ and ‘Ark’ as well as new songs from his forthcoming album and unique interpretations of songs from Tim Buckley, Afro-Brasilian and Bossa Nova sources together with new arrangements of classic Dead Can Dance songs.
