Zangeressen Leoni Jansen, Margot Merah en Sophie Janna (het duo The Lasses) delen een diepe liefde voor Keltische sferen. Schotse hooglanden, Ierse heuvels, de branding die eindeloos op de rotsen beukt, en altijd ergens in dat woeste landschap wel een dorpskroegje waar mensen samen rond het haardvuur muziek maken. In A Celtic Winter brengen de drie vrouwen de mooiste winter- en kerstnummers uit het Keltische folkrepertoire ten gehore.
Leoni Jansen is al jaren een gepassioneerde liefhebber en vertolker van het Ierse repertoire, bekend om haar warme intensiteit. The Lasses worden geprezen om hun pure en harmonieuze Schotse klanken. Samen stoken de drie het vuur behaaglijk op met betoverende driestemmige zang, begeleid op snaarinstrumenten, shrutibox en bodhrán. Met A Celtic Winter brengen The Lasses en Leoni Jansen warmte en licht in de donkere dagen van december, waarbij je hun hart hoort kloppen voor de magische, Keltische muziek.

The Lasses Biography
Even before they ever spoke they sang together, at a session in Irish pub Mulligans in Amsterdam. Now Sophie Janna and Margot Merah tour all around the world with their invigorating repertoire of Scottish, Irish and American folk and intimate self-penned songs. Their strong harmonies, unaffected vocals and choice of songs makes them a sought after duo in the international folk scene. The past few years saw them tour the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Scotland, England, the United States, Canada and Japan. Their fourth album 'Undone' was released in the fall of 2019. Accompanying themselves on bodhrán, tenor ukulele and guitar, the unique blend of the women’s voices always takes the center stage.
