Week One 2025 July 13-19, 2025 Sponsored by WUMB Radio in Boston, Massachusetts, SAMW offers an exuberant week of intensive instruction, jamming, workshops, concerts and musical collaboration with instructors attuned to the needs of each student. Class topics include Flatpicking and Fingerstyle Guitar, Fiddle, Harmonica, Dulcimer, Banjo, Mandolin, Voice, Blues Styles, Performance, and Songwriting, as well as the opportunity to learn sound reinforcement skills. Instructors: Rolly Brown Susie Burke Kate Campbell Guy Davis John Doerschuk Cliff Eberhardt Lorraine Hammond Bennett Hammond Carl Jones Maura Kennedy Pete Kennedy Erynn Marshall Brooks Williams SAMW 2025 Fees and Policies 2025 Fees Dock Road I-K & Cottages (3-person cabins): $1250 Member / $1300 Non-Member College Row, Dock Road A-F (2-person cabins): $1300 Member / $1350 Non-Member Inn 2nd Floor: $1325 Member / $1375 Non-Member Inn Second Floor, double bed: $1350 Member / $1400 Non-Member Tree Line Cabins, College Row New (w/private bathroom): $1400 Member / $1450 Non-Member Payment • A deposit of $400 for each session reserves your space. Inn 2nd Floor & Tree Line Cabins are limited, and will be filled on a first come, first served basis. • Payment balance is due by May 1, 2025. Failure to pay the balance by the due date will result in a canceled reservation and a $400 processing fee. Minimum age for enrollment is 18. No exceptions. Cancellation Policy • Cancellation by May 1, 2025: full refund minus a $400 processing fee. • Cancellation by June 6, 2025: full refund minus a $450 processing fee. • Cancellation by June 20, 2025: full refund minus a $500 processing fee. • Cancellation after June 20, 2025: all payments non-refundable. Camp Information Weather and Environment This part of New Hampshire can be warm in summer months, but if it rains, it can be kind of cool. Also note that the camp is located in the woods next to a lake. What to Bring or not Bring To be prepared for all the activities and weather, here are some suggestions on what to bring with you: • Linens and towels are provided. • A small fan with extension cord. • Sweatshirt/Jacket/Rain Gear/Poncho for cool evenings or rainy days. • Swimming apparel and towel. • Flashlight. • Bug spray. • Your own snack food and any special dietary needs. A refrigerator is available to campers. • A well labeled mug. Water, coffee and tea are available all day. • An extra blanket or sleeping bag. • Please DO NOT bring hairdryers, curling irons, coffee machines or other heat-producing appliances. SAMW Campstore The SAMW store stocks music accessories, instructors CDs and cassettes, sweatshirts, mugs, t-shirts, and an assortment of music related items. Please see the schedule for store hours. The Geneva Point Store / Laundry Facilities Our host site, the Geneva Point Center, operates a small store on the grounds offering many necessities and great ice cream! A coin-operated laundry is available on site. Local Shopping The Geneva Point Center is located approximately 3 miles from a general store. In addition, Center Harbor is just 6 miles from the camp and Moultonboro is close by as well. Emergency Phone Numbers The Geneva Point Emergency Phone number is 603-253-4366. In a career that now spans two decades, New York duo Maura and Pete Kennedy have traversed a broad musical landscape, surveying power pop, acoustic songwriting, organic rock rooted in their early days in Austin, and a Byrds-inspired jangle that drew the attention of McGuinn, Steve Earle, and most notably Nanci Griffith. The duo co-produced Nanci’s latest CD, and are currently touring the US and the British Isles with the Texas songstress.
