About this concert
This circle's Prompt: Space
For those that haven't been to a Songwriter Circle yet, these are workshops where we get a topic, have a some time to write a song on the topic, and share/work on/perform that song, and thoughts on the writing process with other songwriters (poets welcome too).
Just as a reminder - these are workshops not contests. To add more emphasis on the workshop aspect of these events, instead of just coming to perform the songs about 1:30, we will start about 1:00 for socializing, workshopping unfinished songs, discussions and introductions. If there's time after playing our new songs, we'll throw down and share some other originals, as well.
So songwriters, get your writing cap on...Fans of original music, come and hang out with local writers as we talk the art and craft of songwriting and play a few original tunes as well.
See you in the Circle!

Brian Scott Roessler Biography
What started as calamity ended up becoming Brian Roessler’s defining moment as a songwriter. Having just lost the tip of his ring finger on his fretting hand in an accident, Brian felt completely lost. Playing guitar was more than a hobby or a part-time job. It was a release, an avenue for emotive lyrics, a connection to other people. Sitting in the emergency room that night, it felt as if all of that had been taken away.
Creativity and resilience are often born from diversity, and soon Brian found himself exploring tunings and rhythmic patterns that allowed him to play without using the injured finger. Soon, these alternate tunings and rhythms became more than just temporary; they became a signature sound that changed the way Brian wrote songs and differentiated his music from his friends and peers.
Mostly known for his live, solo-acoustic shows, Brian is working on songs for his sixth album. Previous music is available on CD Baby, Apple Music, iTunes, Amazon, Bandcamp, Spotify, Pandora and many other streaming services.
