Clancy Pye Biography
Fast becoming one of the most exciting singer-songwriters to emerge in Australian Country Music, Clancy Pye grew up with country music in her blood. Raised on a farm in Oberon (NSW) surrounded by a musical family, Clancy first picked up a guitar at the age of six, cut her teeth playing in bars and has since grown a large and dedicated fanbase drawn to her captivating songs and storytelling ability.
Releasing her debut self-titled EP in 2020, Clancy’s music has received extensive support from fans and radio stations nationwide. Her breakout singles ‘Get Lost’ and ‘Heaven Can't Wait’ both debuted at #1 on the iTunes Country Singles Chart with her accompanying music videos also attracting widespread attention. The music video for her heartfelt single ‘Heaven Can’t Wait’ received over 220,000 views on social media alone, featuring touching tributes to those who inspired the song.
No stranger to the big stage, the 2020/2022 Toyota Star Maker Grand Finalist has performed at some of Australia’s biggest country music festivals as a backing vocalist and guitarist for numerous country artists, including New Zealand country star Kaylee Bell. She has also performed internationally, accompanying her older brother Mickey Pye to perform at renowned country music festivals in Canada (Big Valley Jamboree) and Nashville (CMA Fest).
Influenced by the likes of Lori McKenna, Brandy Clark, Kasey Chambers and Natalie Hemby, it is in song writing that Clancy has developed an extraordinary ability to connect with audiences and evoke sentiments that resonate with everyday people.
Devoting the last three years to writing an extensive catalogue of new music and recording her debut album with Producer Sean Rudd (The Vault Studios), Clancy’s string of upcoming releases are destined to strike a chord with her growing audience. The first single ‘Feels Like Home’ off her upcoming album was released in May 2023 alongside a heartwarming music video filmed in her hometown of Oberon. Her second single ‘Drink About’ is OUT NOW and is set to become a happy hour fan favourite among country drinking song admirers. Clancy's recent single 'Days Like This' strikes an emotional chord and showcases Clancy's incredible depth as a Songwriter.
