Pearly subverts our understanding of a rockstar by showing us his own window into trans masculinity. Combining adventurous chord progressions with dreamy and playful lyrics, Pearly invites us into the euphoric experience of meeting oneself.
Joining Pearly to make this a delightful and one-of-a-kind night in the Stonewall's upstairs venue include the queer-americana-folk band Lesser Known Women, and drag performances from CHEEKS the Charmer, Gabriel Blowhard, Thee Katastrophy and thatRYANoverthere!
Accessibility Information: The Stonewall's Upstairs venue is on the second floor, up one flight of stairs. This will be mostly standing room with limited seating available.

Pearly Biography
Pearly is the Brooklyn-based, trans-masc, psychedelic rock project of Kendall Perry. Pearly subverts our understanding of a rockstar by showing us his own window into trans masculinity. Combining adventurous chord progressions with dreamy and playful lyrics, Pearly and his all-queer band invite us into the euphoric experience of meeting oneself.
Even in this debut glimpse, Pearly is at home among the titans of rock Americana, writing inventive, catchy, and culture-changing songs like Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, and the Beach Boys' Brian Wilson. “The spirituality of Wilson’s music is not something I think about too much, but it’s always with me,” Kendall noted leading up to the album release. Perry observes the heavy influence of Wilson's Pet Sounds, and the way it escalates past psychedelic to transcendent. Musical form elevates the content of falling in love with life on an endless beach.
The single on the album “Late Bloomer Baby” is an origin story for Pearly, a take-off point sonically and lyrically sure to awaken the feeling of flight that will keep the song on repeat. A chorus sounds off at the song's end, reflecting on this line and how audiences are asked to participate in Pearly’s live shows, singing, “perennial I aim to be, perennial I aim to be.”
Pearly is joined by his all-queer band, with Caro Moore (they/she) on drums, Magda Kress (she/they) on bass. After coming together for a one-night retrospective of Kendall’s instrumental compositions in 2023, they all thought, “we should be in a band!”. Caro is a freelance drummer and percussionist based in NYC. They are active in the musical theater, pop, rock, and jazz scenes in the city, and currently sub for SIX on Broadway. They opened the SIX Boleyn US National Tour in the Fall of 2022 and returned to the city a year later to make music with their friends! Magda can frequently be found playing low notes with theatre productions, cabarets, and bands all over NYC. Past faves: Pretty Woman 1st National Tour, Dead Outlaw (Audible Theater), Folk Wandering (Pipeline Theatre Co.), Conversion (documentary soundtrack).
A celebration of queer and trans life—Pearly’s music is a safe space for the in-between and beyond to shine. Pearly and his band recorded their debut EP in December 2024 at Holy Fang Studios with producer and engineer Oliver Ignatius. Stay tuned for the rest of the EP!
