Gilah

Gilah (FKA Inspiraling) is the shoegaze, or, "Deep Gaze," project of Gil Israel, currently based in Ridgewood, Queens. After releasing the last Inspiraling EP, The Wrong Places, via Spirit Goth Records in 2017, the time felt ripe for a name change. After all, new name equals new music ;) 
The latest mini LP, From Where I'm Standing, released via Window Sill in 2020, is inspired more heavily by slow-core and ambient textures than previous efforts, while still retaining an emphasis on the same idiosyncratic maximalist aesthetic. The mini LP was called out on Bandcamp Daily's "Rare Shoegaze Gems From All Eras Unearthed" list for its experimental shoegaze sound earlier this year. The live band consists of Gil, along with deep friends and collaborators Connor Bush, Ned Sassi, and Gabe Silverman.
