Ballard Biography
Ballard is an Indianapolis artist--author, singer/songwriter--living in Oaklandon, Indiana. He grew up in Pendleton, Indiana, attending Pendleton Heights High School. He then attended Berea College in Berea, Kentucky, double majoring in English Literature and Secondary Education with a minor in Japanese. Throughout his life Ballard taught high school English and worked as a school administrator, managing K-12 programs and finally, faculty for Western Governors University. He earned his masters of education in 2015. He is the author of Through A Glass Darkly, From Religious Trauma To Freedom, a firsthand account of his life in the American Church, revealing how he overcame religious trauma through the study of world religions and philosophy, which he published in January of this year. He is currently working on his second book, The Latchkey Kids, about growing up in the small towns of Eureka, Illinois and Pendleton, Indiana, which will be released in the coming months. In November of '24 he recorded his first album, an EP entitled On The Run, set to be released on April 18, 2025. The first single, "City of Refuge," was released on January 10, 2025, along with a video for the debut single. Ballard released "On The Run" the title track to the forthcoming EP on February 7, 2025. The third and final single, "Float On," streams everywhere on March 7, 2025. Ballard is currently in the studio working on his second and third albums, a blues record simply titled Blues, and a solo acoustic album entitled Dream, which he plans to release in 2025 as well. He will be opening at the LoFi on March 27 for Dakota Ray Parker. Join Ballard and his band at The Stable in Pendleton, Indiana, for the release party for his debut EP, On The Run, on April 18, when the album streams everywhere.
