Inspired by the iconic riffs of Slash from Guns N' Roses, JB Elwood embarked on his musical journey at the tender age of ten. His stage name is a tribute to his late grandfather, John Elwood Ball, an entrepreneur in southern West Virginia's coalfields. His other grandpa, Eugene "Poppy" Jackson, gifted his treasured 1960's Gibson Dove guitar, an heirloom, that now underpins Elwood's songwriting.
