Muddy Ribbon

Muddy Ribbon is a husband-and-wife folk duo blending the timeless storytelling of classic country with the soul of Americana. Rooted in themes of heartbreak and working-class struggles, their music is a reflection of lived experience—honest, raw, and deeply sincere. The duo is composed of Tyler Giles, a seasoned songwriter and pedal steel guitarist who has toured across the U.S. and Europe, and Cheyenne Dorrell-Giles, a lifelong, classically-trained performer with a background in musical theater. Together, they bring a unique blend of musical craftsmanship and emotional depth to their songs, drawing inspiration from artists such as John Prine, Mandolin Orange, and Guy Clark. Their name is a tribute to the Missouri River, the winding, muddy ribbon that separates Cheyenne’s native Kansas from Tyler’s Missouri — symbolizing both division and connection, much like the stories they tell through song.
