About this concert
The SoapGirls are not just a band — they are a movement. Formed by sisters Noemie and Camille Debray, this genre-defying alternative rock duo has been inseparable both personally and creatively since early childhood. Their story is one of raw talent, relentless perseverance, and an unshakable sisterhood that has powered them from street performers in South Africa to internationally acclaimed headline acts on major stages around the world.
What began as a childhood endeavor to raise funds for various neo natal awards/hospital by singing and selling soap at the local wharf (Hence their name) the sisters quickly evolved into something extraordinary encouraging and inspiring others to make a difference.Their natural charisma and musical intuition caught the attention of audiences and industry professionals alike, culminating in a global recording contract with Universal Music by the time they were teenagers — a milestone that laid the foundation for a lifelong career built on integrity, authenticity, and vision.
Over the years, The SoapGirls have forged a fierce DIY path through the rock landscape, building an empire from the ground up. With multiple internationally released albums and relentless touring schedules, they have captivated audiences across the UK, Europe, Japan, and now the United States. Their live shows are legendary — gritty, theatrical, and emotionally fearless — reflecting not just their musical precision but their commitment to creating a safe, unapologetically bold space for misfits and outsiders to belong.
The SoapGirls are a mainstay in the alternative press, with hundreds of features and reviews in major publications including Classic Rock Magazine, Guitar World, Vive Le Rock, Bass Player, Louder Than War, and Punk Globe. Their music has been broadcast on prominent radio stations including BBC Radio, Planet Rock, and RTE, while their television appearances in both the UK and South Africa have further elevated their profile as genre-bending cultural disruptors. To date, their media exposure has reached a global audience of over 185 million people.
Their reputation as touring artists is equally formidable. The SoapGirls have headlined iconic venues such as Camden Assembly in London, Womb in Tokyo, Melkweg in Amsterdam, Corporation in Sheffield, and First Avenue in Minneapolis. In 2025, they will headline the massive Motoblot Festival in Chicago — one of the most influential alternative rock and lifestyle festivals in the United States.
But what sets The SoapGirls apart isn’t just their skill or stagecraft — it’s their story. They are a rare example of lifelong musical unity. From pre-teens creating their own songs in South Africa to international ambassadors of female empowerment in rock, they have remained committed to their artistry and to each other for over 15 years. Their message is consistent and universal: be who you are, loudly and without shame.
In a world of fleeting trends and manufactured acts, The SoapGirls stand as a testament to what can be achieved through courage, conviction, and an unbreakable creative bond. They are not just deserving of recognition — they embody it.

If you are in to high energy rock music then The SoapGirls are a must to see. The two sisters are excellent guitar players with great riffs and catchy tunes. Their vocals range from beautiful harmonies through to metal growls. All sounded great in the Arches venue which is defiantly worth a visit if you are into grass roots music as it always has a good line up of bands,
I really had a good time and so glad I went

The SoapGirls Biography
**The SoapGirls: Unapologetic Rock Revolutionaries**
Freshly signed to TKO, the dynamic duo of The SoapGirls is buzzing with excitement for the forthcoming year, poised for the thrilling release of new singles. The anticipation peaks as they diligently craft their much-anticipated fifth album, a testament to their continuous evolution in the realm of rebellious rock.
Described as the epitome of raw, catchy, and anarchistic rock and roll, The SoapGirls deliver outsider anthems through grungy, rock, punk-pop guitars blended with harmonic vocals and striking melodic overtones, interlaced with metal growls that are audacious and heartfelt. Hailing from Cape Town, French-born sisters Millie and Mie have etched their name as the world's hardest-working duo, relentlessly shaping a musical journey that defies convention.
From their roots as street performers, singing and selling homemade soaps to donate proceeds to hospitals, The SoapGirls emerged. Their relentless work ethic didn't falter, even during lockdown, where they unleashed over 400 live streams, showcasing varied theme nights and dark humor to an engaged audience.
Mie, the guitarist/vocalist, drives the momentum with grace and style, channeling influences from Fleetwood Mac, Joan Jett, and others, creating a melodic yet powerful musical signature. Meanwhile, bass player/vocalist Millie embodies an onstage force, wielding a unique bass technique and a vocal range that spans from angelic notes to disturbing metal growls, drawing inspiration from heavier acts like Alice in Chains and Marilyn Manson.
Opposites in nature but united in musical synergy, the sisters blend their voices and talents in a way only siblings can. Their live performances exude an unmatched energy, characterized by ruthless passion and impeccable harmonies that set them apart.
Their journey hasn't been without challenges. The SoapGirls stormed South Africa's album charts as teenagers but refused to compromise their art for commercial success dictated by major labels. Choosing freedom, authenticity, and a punk attitude, they embarked on an independent path, crafting albums like "Calls For Rebellion," "Society’s Rejects," "Elephant In The Room," and "In My Skin," which have redefined their genre boundaries. Their is a lot of anticipation for their upcoming 5th album releasing this year..
The SoapGirls' onstage charisma and unyielding live performances have cemented their place as top acts in major rock, punk, and alternative festivals. With their much-anticipated fifth album on the horizon and a partnership with TKO, 2025 promises to be a year filled with excitement and groundbreaking music from this revolutionary duo.
