THE DOGS (Detroit) Biography
THE DOGS grew up in the Lansing/Detroit/Ann Arbor late 60’s music scene. THE DOGS rocked hard, fast and precise (energy-maniacs onstage they may have been, their proficiency as teens cast them practically as rock prodigies) with their own original songs from the get-go. They opened for the likes of MC5, Stooges, Amboy Dukes with Ted Nugent, SRC etc. etc. etc.
THE DOGS helped ignite the pre punk scenes in Detroit, NYC and
Hollywood with their underground cult classic songs "Slash Your Face + Fed UP" +
"John Rock" They forged their musical legacy in the grit of Detroit's Motor City, explored
the avant-garde realms of the pre-punk New York underground, and soared amidst
the glitz and decadence of Hollywood in the late 70's opening for The Ramones,
Van Halen, AC/DC
In Jan 2024 the band recruited the hard-hitting LA Based Punk/Indy drummer Rob Klonel and are very excited about the future with new live shows in the US + New Recordings on Rum Bar Records.
Enamored of the bullet proof, industrial proto punk/hard rock of such celebrated elders The Stooges and MC5, THE DOGS have firmly built in that tradition
