Wife and I celebrated an early Valentine's with dinner, wine and Jhett Black music. I saw Jhett "Coal" Black at the Tall City Blues Festival and wanted my wife to hear his baritone blues offerings. Pleasantly surprised to see Jhett's wife, Callie Sioux Schiavone join him on stage playing bass, blues harp and interjecting soprano vocals. Both are very talented performers and put on a great show.

Jhett Black Blues Biography
The southern gothic sound of Jhett’s bass-barritone voice growls over the top of gritty slide guitar and wages war on struggle and strife. Based in Chattanooga, TN, the internationally received songwriter has taken the inferno of ten years of touring with underground rock band, Gleewood, and burns away everything but the blues. With raw energy and charisma, Jhett Black summons the ghosts of American roots music to deliver powerful live performances.
Foot stomping rhythms and and raucous guitar playing are drawn from sources such as Howlin’ Wolf, and Lead Belly while soulfully illustrating ballads with lyrical nods to storytellers like Johnny Cash and Nick Cave.
Jhett won 2nd place at the International Blues Challenge 2022 (solo/duo), Charted #1 with Roots for over 8 weeks on Blues Radio, Babel, his latest album, has charted on Blues Rock Radio, Blues Radio, NACC charts and more.
