Lail Arad Biography

Lail Arad is a London-born singer and writer, best known for her sharp lyrics, arresting voice and singular live shows. She has released two acclaimed solo albums, published a book of lyrics, toured extensively, opened for the likes of Television and Ezra Furman, had a baby, written a novel, not in that order.

Lail recently curated a sold-out tribute for Joni Mitchell’s 80th birthday at the Roundhouse. ‘The Songs of Joni Mitchell’ was picked up for a UK tour in September and will hit the road again in 2025.

“This is literate acoustic singer-songwriter fare at its best... Album of the year contender.” ~ The Arts Desk

Lail has also been recording and performing as a duo with Canadian songwriter JF Robitaille since meeting in 2016. Their songs were recently featured in the movie Tripped Up (Universal Pictures) and their long-awaited duo album will be released next year.

“One of the best songs I’ve heard in a long time.” ~ Lauren Laverne, BBC 6 Music
