The ‘Northern Lights Folk Festival’ was first held in Bell Park in 1972. It was a free one-day music festival on one stage; needless to say it has grown exponentially since. It remains Canada’s longest continually running outdoor music festival, holding it’s 50th anniversary in 2022, and taking place on the picturesque shores of Ramsey Lake in Bell Park, in the heart of Sudbury.

The Event was amazing! Minor Gold and Miniscule were both incredible! Loved the venue although we got the last table (upstairs) and the view of the stage was not great. It was also great to chat with the talented musicians after the show. Keep up the great work!!

Blending sixth sense harmonies with sun-dappled folk-rock, Minor Gold are an award-winning duo led by vocalists and guitarists Dan Parsons (AUS) & Tracy McNeil (CAN). With heartfelt songs, free-spirited rhythms and an undeniable stage chemistry, their music floats you down desert highways and through coastal canyons. Living the life on international highways & backroads since they formed in 2022, the duo kicks off 2025 with their first UK/EU Tour in January/February, followed by a new single, 'Way to the Sun' (Out March 7) - the title track from their forthcoming sophomore album, produced by Dan Horne (Mapache, Cass McCombs) backed by a North American tour kicking off in March 2025.
